SOURCE: I have a Panasonic DVD Player/Video Cassette

Many DVD trays use a belt to make it come in and out. If it breaks or falls off the tray will not move. Look inside see if you can see it. If you find it measure the diameter of the belt in mm. The put these words into google: "drive belt ??mm". You should find, it don't worry if your a few mm out.

SOURCE: cannot play certain dvd discs

Panasonic NV-VP33 is a DVD/VCR combo unit. These are good, but limited in DVD media playback formats. It depends on the types of DVDs you are trying to play, and their region codes (if they apply).

This model will NOT play:

DVD-ROM / DVD audio / DVD+R (unfinalised) / DVD-RW / Blu-Ray (obviously).

This model WILL play:

DVD-R (finalised) / DVD-RAM (no finalising required) shop-bought DVD movies / CD-R (for JPEG/MP3/DivX) / DVD-R DL (finalised) / DVD+RW (titled or with a top menu to make them compatible with other players, but again, finalising not required).

You didn't specify which DVDs do not play in your unit.

I would be very concerned if your player didn't read ANY DVDs at all. I assume the image below is what the model looks like. I have never had any problems with mine.

I am trying to find a panasconic remote control eur7720x90 can find these product it is for my mother to replace her remote controls

I couldn't find much of anything on your remote. The only thing that came up by googling it was a dead link to a Panasonic NV-VP33 DVD/VCR recorder. I found a user manual here
http://safemanuals.com/fullswf-PANASONIC.php?type=.SWF&file=SWF/PANASONIC/11-01-08-12-46-00-3081&langue=en&img_width=596&img_height=842&cat=vide
By browsing the user manual, it looks like they have switched to the eur7720X60 and it looks very close to what I could find on the x90
If this is your unit, you might want to check it out. The x60 remote is available from Panasonic and a few other places on line.
Hope this helps

No color from VHS on DVD/VHS player

There may be an input selection between Composite and S-Video that needs to be toggled in your Hauppauge software.

Your Hauppauge card may also be in the wrong signal format mode (NTSC or PAL). Your source device and your Hauppauge card need to be in the same mode (both NTSC or both PAL) for the capture to work properly.

If your NV-VP33 is a SCART output, then you may need to check your SCART adapter and your device as not all devices output both S-Video (Y/C - two signals) and Composite (CVBS - one signal) type signals.

If your SCART adapter has both Composite and S-Video outputs, try the other one.

And finally... if you're playing an NTSC tape/DVD in a PAL player, it doesn't mean the output is true NTSC 3.58. Most times it's NTSC 4.43 which is OK for TVs, but NOT okay for video capture devices. Video capture devices need true NTSC 3.58 to sync the color carrier properly.
