How to remove water dispenser pad from kitchenaid KSSC48QTS refrigerator

Am trying to fix the Water Dispenser Pad as I have to press the pad real hard to dispense the water, but don't know how to remove the cover or get the Water Pad out to see why its not working like it used to. Someone said it has a thin strip on the back of the pad that needs to be reapplied to make the connection.

Chances are is a bad water valve.  The water valve is on the back of the fridge at the bottom.  You will see the water line going into it.

SOURCE: the Water dispenser is leaking water

It's either a bad water valve or the switch in the dispenser is stuck.

SOURCE: No water dispensing to the icemaker. Water does dispense through the door dispenser. KitchenAid ksbs25fkbl00

Unplug your refrigerator and leave the freezer door open for 2 hours (The food in the freezer will only partially thaw).

The line supplying the water to the ice maker has frozen...this will un-thaw it.

SOURCE: KitchenAid KSBP25FKSS Side by Side Refrigerator Ice & water dispenser ondoor not working

I had the same problem and had to have the entire door replaced. I thought it was a random thing since sometimes it would just start working again, but finally it just stopped for good. The wires that
are below the door on the left hand side (you can see them better when the lower front piece is removed) were severed and they can't be put back together without replacing the door. My repair guy (the refrig. was still under warranty) told me it was a design or installation defect and that he has seen it time and again. Evidently, when they install the wiring, they don't leave enough room to stuff the wires out of the way of the closing door and eventually, it severs them over time.

you may need to replace the water inlet valve. it is a dual valve, one side for water and one side for ice. part #2304833. see the attached breakdown #10. perhaps this will help.

Water will not flow out of dispenser

This is common when the water filter needs to be replaced. GE recommends:
Water filter clogged. Replace filter cartridge or remove filter and install plug. Air may be trapped in the line: Press the dispenser arm for at least two minutes.
Dispenser is LOCKED. Press and hold the LOCK CONTROL pad for 3 seconds.

The water line may be turned off or disconnected.

No ice or water from dispenser

Kathryn, make sure you do not have the dispenser locked out. Press and hold the lock button for 3 seconds. If you have a green light above the pad this indicates lock. You are going to have to hold the water lever for a while until all the air in the new filter is purged. Catriver...post back.
