Question about Dell Inspiron One 2020 All-in-One Desktop

1 Answer

Blank screen on Inspiron 2020- computer gets power and boots up but I get a blank screen

You can hear the computer running and hear the windows log-on music but I see nothing. Is it a video card, an Lcd controller. Can someone tell me what the problem might be?

If computer has an output for another monitor , plug extra monitor into it. If other monitor also does not work then the problem lies within the video circuits. If external monitor works then the hassle is with the lcd screen.
Either way it is not a cheap repair since it is an all in one product with proprietary parts. Add to that the labor factor and you might be looking at a new unit.

That blinking cursor is the way in which the BIOS is telling you that Windows or any other OS is missing . Since you are getting it without even an hdd connected it means that the southbridge is defective. Which means that the motherboard is dead, replace it.

Windows 8 will not load on my inspiron one 2020. after dell screen the screen just flashes

After you start your computer and the initial computer system display dissappears (before Windows begins) repeatedly pressing the F8 (I believe) should take you to a Multi-Boot selection screen. At that point you should see several selections for booting your system (ie. Safe Mode, Repair Windows, etc) I would select the "Repair Windows" option for the Automatic Repair. Let me know if it helps.

there is something wrong with the video driver or the monitor...If the screen shows something like the devices when it boots up...and only goes blak when it logs to windows...I mean if you see all on the screen until you get to the windows logo..this is a operating system error ..a driver seting or crash...so ...just reinstall it ..or repair the operation system ..cause if it is a setting on video driver or a error ..you can not fix it if you do not see anything ..
if the system boots but you never see a thing on the monitor...not even the writen devices when it first starts..or the bios..this means that the screen or the ribbon of the monitor has a damage on..try to change its position...or so ..but in this case you will need a ribbon for sure ...
