It starts off as normal then stops mid cycle and then goes back to the start again! I then need to drain the water out manually! I have cleaned the filter and there wasnt anything in it! Now there appears to be a fair bit of water under my machine!

The water I likely to be from you draining it...could it have escaped to under your machine? ...if the board is not the issue the machin may be thinking I just cannot drin, this should be bringing up a error message but in your case may not be.

To be sure ensure there is no kink in the flexy drainage hose at the back of your machine

  • ricardo cafolla Apr 16, 2014

Add a CommentFailing that it could be a draining pump or if that failed very likely to be a heater problem in the washing machine ( that last solution is often overlooked by engineers)

  • ricardo cafolla Apr 16, 2014

Also reference the water before looking at possible machine problems ensure the water from the flex hose is able to drain and that your household drainage is not backing up, once your machine empties some water, if that were the case the machine would assume that it cannot drain and could go back to the start to try again....

Check the drain pump filter for a foreign object and check your hoses for clogging or obstructions.

If there is nothing wrong with either of those, you will need to replace the drain pump.

SOURCE: Hi, I have an Electrolux EWF 1074 front loader.

Go back and check your connections. If you had the machine working previously and none of these issues were there before you cleaned out the drain area of the unit then your first step would be to check the connection to the pump as well as your connections going from the control to the door area as well. If after you have checked all your connections to the pump the door lock assembly, the control and the touch pad the unit is still doing the same thing then message me back. Before you do any of the checking of connections in the unit first hold down delay and extra rinse buttons together for 3-5 seconds. This usually will unlock the control if the control is locked on the unit. Also if the delay and extra rinse and the checking of your connections does not solve your issue then also message me back with the number of times the pause button is flashing and how often it flashes as well. If you have any further questions message me those back as well. I await your reply Thanks again Rick

SOURCE: program lights not showing on front loader

You most likely have had the main control board blow on your Electrolux washing machine.

It is quite common for the main boards to blow on these machines. The main board is located on top of the machine towards the front right hand corner.

You need to remove the top panel via two screws on the back. Then slide and lift to remove top cover.
You will notice a white plastic casing fitted on the right hand side towards the front. This plastic cover holds the main PCB and is vertically fitted on a cross beam and has many wires going into it.

Get a quote for the part as they are expensive. Best to get a qualified repairer if you are going to replace this part, as there may be a problem elsewhere in your machine, causing the board to blow.
Electrical storms and power-surges also cause the boards to blow. Other time an electical short circuit or leaking water on electical components can cause this. Another item to watch out for are cocroaches. They can nest in the boards and short things out.
