I have the same problem. What I was told is to check to make sure that all your connections are not loosely plugged into the outlets. Or buy a surge protector which might help some.

Often this is an issue with the incoming cable ground. There is a an inexpensive device called a ground breaker that goes In Line on the cable box input. It is threaded so it just screws on to the cable and the box. Most professional AV guys have some in their kit, They sell for less than $10 Or there is the one I linked Viewsonics VSIS EU Cable TV Ground Loop Isolator TII 220 Ground Loop Isolator for Cable TV applications

If you only hear the noise in the surround sound mode and not stereo then look for your settings options in you cable box. Look for the TV settings then audio section and make sure you select the surround option. If the noise is in all the sound modes then you probably have a ground problem. Make sure all you audio cables are plugged into your box correctly and make sure there are no loose cables.

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. I had this issue with my TV as well. You will need to turn the TV volume up and the cable volume down. The opposite way from how you have it now. This should resolve your issue.

Have alot of buzzing noise when we play a DVD but not when watching tv.

Verify the AUDIO cables from the DVD player to the TV they could be defective (even if new)
push the PLUGES firmly so they are correctly seated, play with (shake/move) the AUDIO cables while playing a DVD to see if it's not a loose connection

Cheers!

When I have my Yamaha receiver and TV on I hear a distinct buzzing hum noise from my main external speakers What could be causing this sound I have turned all other components off"

Make sure none of the cabling passes near the TV or any source of high electromagnetic fields. If you have track lighting, turn it off.

Get the TV-related audio digitally from the cable box instead of analog via the TV.

Buzzing/humming noise that increases as you raise volume. So loud that you can not even watch tv

Hello snow1525,

You may have a torn speaker element. This is usually the cause of buzzing noise in the sound, also you may have a bad capacitor in your audio section. This is what I would suggest doing as a test open the front bottom panel of your TV and visually inspect the speakers for signs of ripping and or tearing in the speaker element. If the element or elements are torn it may be possible to repair it with rubber cement or rubber paste just coat the tear with the rubber cement to hole the torn edges together and allow it to dry for two days before testing the sound. If the speaker elements are not ripped then the problem may be a bad capacitor either in the audio section (power supply) or in the filter block (usually attached to the speakers to separate bass and treble signal to the speakers.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

Alot of loud feedback through speakers, a loud buzzing noise

What sources make it happen or which do not? All buzzing = something in the amplifier end. is it from all speakers or just one?
One external source= RCA cables not grounded. Reconnect them tightly with a twisting motion to wipe off oxidation.

Vizio speakers make a buzzing noise

It's not the speakers. I usually hear of this problem when hooked up to an HD cable box. You can adjust the volume on the cable box and also on the TV. I'll bet you don't have this problem when watching a DVD.

If the problem is what I think it is, your HD Cable box is set at a really low volume while your TV is set to a rather high volume. Try setting the TV volume to around one-third, then set the volume on the cable box until it's as loud as you'd ever want to hear it. With the TV at such a high volume, you're actually amplifying any stray electronic signals that the wires might be picking up, and the above solution will fix that.

Good Luck.

Distortion/noise and buzz in front left speaker

Try to see if the reciever will make the buzzing/noise without anything connected to it except power, and speakers. Tune into a local radio station and see if the noise continues. If the noise has stopped, then you know there is an issue with the player or cable.
