Question about SimpleTech SimpleDrive Pininfarina 500GB External USB 2.0 Hard Drive - Onyx
This is an older unit, rather large at 8"x5", and on the back is written: BOM NO. 96300-41001-013 One person said to use a power supply that is 12V 2amps with positive center pin. But I would like someone to confirm this before I try something that could destroy all my data!
I have the same devise. The AC Adapter has this description on it: MODEL S120S150A3; INPUT: 100V-240V ac 50/60Hz 450mA Max; OUTPUT: 12V 1. 5A

It's pretty pathetic that companies like Pininfarina/Simpletech don't print what adapters are needed for their devices. Just pathetic. They put the burden on the consumers to do it for them.
