Question about Yamaha P95 Digital Piano

1 Answer

No sound Suddenly there is no more sound coming from my keyboard, neither from the speakers, nor from the headphones. I've tried resetting to factory settings and the local control is set to ON. What could be the problem and how can I fix it?

If there was a technicien around I wouldn't have asked the question. We're living on a plantation in Ghana and it's difficult (impossible) to find a technicien here that knows what the problem is and can fix it without damaging even more. I thought maybe someone knows which part is broken so we can order it on the internet and either replace it ourselves.

in that case look to the power transformer on the sound board. There may also be diode protection somewhere on the same board for speaker side short circuit protection. How much do you know about circuit drawings and component specification tables?

SOURCE: I just bought a yamaha

Clean the head phone jack. When you put in headphones, they mute speakers. If headphone jack is dirty or stuck, speakers remain muted.

Sell it to a musical instrument repair shop for parts. You can get some money to get a new one.

I have a ypg535 and headphones work but no sound from keyboard. I did unplug the headphones.

If you have sound through the headphones but not the internal speakers then assuming there is nothing stuck in the socket, headphone adaptor, broken plug etc then it would point to the amplifier section of the keyboard having failed. Sound via the hip socket is normally from the pre amp stage. Is there any slight hissing from speakers? If so this reinforces amplifier theory as the speakers are obviously connected.

please state model number of the keyboard and answers to the above .

Yamaha psr-gx76 keyboard-sound comes through headphones. Does not come through speakers.

Try cleaning the headphone jack. If that doesn't help, it'll be the amplifier board and will need to go to the shop.

Why is there no sound output?

Hi, I am answering this generically, because there are a few things that can cause this on a lot of keyboards.
  1. Make sure there are no headphones connected. I have removed headphones and the 3.5mm plug comes out leaving the adaptor, this still cuts the speakers.
  2. Sometimes the switch on the headphone socket does not make properly, work the headphone jack in and out a few times.
  3. Local MIDI should be set to ON, if you cannot find this, as it is often buried in some deep menu, link MIDI out to MIDI in with a cable.
  4. Do a reset, be careful as some restore factory defaults and you will lose user presets, so back up, MIDI dump first, others allow resets that do not affect the voices.
  5. connect to your usual software (sequencer, patch librarian, etc) and see if the keyboard has been muted, volume set to zero etc.
  6. Is the volume knob turned up?
All the best, Chris the fader.

I have a w7 keyboard ,given to me free, but with no owners' manaul, when I plug in amp there was no sound coming out I do not why?

There should be a headphone jack... try headphones first...

If no sound from the phones with the volume control up, the unit MAY have lost settings due to depleted memory battery.

Look on the web for "factory reset" procedure for the W7.

No sound from Yamaha keyboard

Hello,

The keyboard takes only a specialist to fix the problem. Its also very delicate. The best you can do is to reset it and if the resetting does not work, then you will have to take the keyboard to a repairman to fix it for you.

Firstly, connect a headphone to the keyboard and observe if it will give a good sound. if it gives a good sound, then it means the speaker for your keyboard may have loosed contact or gotten burst.

But if it does not make any sound with the headphone, then it might be a board or sound ic problem. You can also try resetting the resetting the keyboard to default.

Turn off the keyboard, press and hold the last white key and turn the keyboard on while still holding the white key. The keyboard will then restore to its factory default.

If that doesn't solve the problem, you will have to dismantle the keyboard, use a meter to read the panel/board in order to detect the fault and do every necessary replacement. Also, you can do a deep cleaning, by cleaning all the dust in it.

If you can't do any of this, then you will end up taking is to a repairing man to fix the problem for you.

Good luck.

Line 6 spider 210 volume problem

The bypass switch in the headphone jack is likely broken. NEVER unplug the headphones while the amp is on.

There are certain small amps that have a possibilty of popping the power amp due to a feedback arrangement. Likewise, never use the headphone jack for ANYTHING other than headphones.
