Question about Sony CMT-CP333 CD Shelf System

1 Answer

CMT-CP333 - want to use microphone to record on tape. Unsure as to how. Microphone - plugged in where it says PHONES - I press REC and then that curious little button to upper right of volume (double lines). Everything starts but it does not record.

With CMT-CP333 - I want to record with microphone on tape. I pressed REC and small button above right of Volume. Plugged micro in Phones. Tested and nothing records.

If you are recording, there should be an indicator, like a light or meter indicating activity. If none, then your are not recording and the problem is with the system. If you see a visual record meter or lamp, try another external microphone and check its activitiy that way.

How do I get it to record a voice?

Many portable 'boombox' recorders do not include a microphone for recording ambient sound, but can only record from one internal source to another, like radio or CD to Cassettte. Some do include an input jack for microphones or other audio sources, but you'll need to check your device's specs/ports to be sure.

Recording

You can only record from the radio or CD player. There's no microphone input on this model. Just insert a tape and press the REC button. If you're recording from the CD, it begins playing when you press the REC button. If you need a copy of the manual you can download it here.

I need to record something with Dictaphone 3750 - I have no manual and there is just a Tel. Rec button. Help

If you press and hold the 'Conf' button, the machine will record using it's built-in mic (located on the right-hand side of the machine, closer to the front). It is probably recommended to get a microphone that plugs into the machine for better recording quality. Depending on what you're recording, you could get a handheld microphone or a telephone record adapter that plugs into your phone and the back of the 3750 (press and hold 'Tel Rec' to use that).

Foot pedal won't work with hands free microphone

The 3750 won't let you control the telephone record jack. The only way you can get a mic to work using the Tel Rec jack is by pressing and holding the 'Tel Rec' button for about 1 second. But this isn't compatible with the hands-free operation.

If you're looking to do hands-free recording, it uses the built-in conference mic. Press and hold the 'Conf Rec' button for about a second and it should start recording. This built-in mic is located on the right-hand side of the machine near the front by the headset jack.

If you want to control the machine via a foot control while in Conference Record mode, you'll have to change the 'Foot Control Dictate' setting in the menu. Here's how:

1) Press and hold the 'Erase' & 'Search' buttons for about 5 seconds until the menu appears.

2) Scroll through the options until you get to 'Foot Control Dictate' and set this to 'Yes'.

3) Press 'Stop' to exit the menu.

4) Press the 'Conf Rec' button to enter record mode.

Now you should be able to control the start/stop of the record function via the foot control.

Hope this helps...

Connecting Pioneer SX-737 Receiver to computer problems

I've been recording LPs for over a year now.

I've got the turntable outputs plugged into the phono inputs on the receiver amp.

I'm taking the Y cord (pair of RCA connectors at one end, mini plug at other) from the Tape Record (these are what you'd use to send a signal to the tape deck for recording) on the amp to the "line in" on the sound card. You may want to look up the specs on your sound card to make certain that you've got the plug in the correct socket. There may be a "line in" and a "microphone" socket. Use the "line in"

What recording software are you using? Audacity is free and is ok. I'm using Goldwave (costs ~$50) and highly recommend it. MUCH better than any other package I've tried. Just google "goldwave" to find it.

The recording software should have an option for selecting / specifying a source. If you have "microphone" selected and the y cord going into the "line in" socket, yoiu won't get anything.

Connecting zr85 to vcr to record vhs tape to dv or sd card

I also have a Canon ZR-- left of the lens and the built-in microphones, there is a small panel that opens to reveal several ports. The middle yellow one is the AV In/Out. You can plug in the cable that came with your camera. One end looks like a microphone plug, the other has 3 RCA type plugs- red, white and yellow. These get plugged into your VCR's OUT plugs on the back of the VCR. Place a tape in the camcorder, open the LCD panel and push the REC PAUSE button. On the VCR, press the Play button. When the tape reaches the point you want to begin recording, press the camcorder's Play/Pause button. When you want to stop recording, press the Stop button on the camcorder.
This is also detailed on page 82 of your manual, manuals are available online at Canon.com. Your specific manual is at: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=174&modelid=9739#DownloadDetailAct
Hope this helps.
