a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: bios reset
As another option you could try resetting the jumper. Some boards save the password regardless unless the reset the BIOS by using the resetting jumper. Refer to the motherboard's manual for further information on how to do this.

to change from windows to XP this is change of the operating system, it is not a simple change of a setting. you are best to find a good knowledgeable person who knows what he is doing, other wise you could ruin your hard drive and have nothing

Found this on Biostar's support page:
They recommend unplugging the power cord for 5 seconds. After plugging back in, press and hold the "INSERT" key when booting to reset the CMOS back to factory defaults.
Since you were never able to actually boot with the overclocking, it's doubtful that any damage has been done especially since the MB shut itself down as a precaution.
Best of luck!

Was Windows 7 the operating system that came with
your System? If not, What I would advise you to do
Check HP website to find out if your Laptop supports
If it doesn't, then I would advise you to
PLEASE change it back to the operating system
that came with your system, or better still, the
operating system that it supports.
The reason is because that is exactly what I faced
two weeks ago....
I changed the operating system for my PC to
Windows 7 ( Even though it doesn't support it)...it
worked fine for a while, then later it started to develop
faults after a while...like stuttering, mouse pointer
moving round the screen, graphics displaying
I first thought it wasn't a big deal, so I fixed it by
repairing the drivers, and it worked fine once again...
After using that same crack that you said you used,
I started getting "Multiple Hardware Error"!
It would just Power on, Show HP Logo, Show
Wireless LAN indicator Led ON, and It will freeze
there. I could not even enter the BIOS.
In short ....Now as I'm typing, the system is
with HP Service Centre for they have to change the
So PLEASE, if your system was not specified
Windows 7, use the Operating Systems that it
Then go to HP Website and download the original
BIOS settngs for your Laptop then repair your
system with it.
But if it is the one that came with it, then let me know
so as to tell you some quick fixes.
Hope this helps you out.
Goodluck and thanks for using fixya!
