Question about Yahoo Messenger
I would suggest uninstalling the application completely and rebooting your PC before trying to reinstall. Use Revo Uninstaller, a free application available here: http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html
Thiswill effectively remove all the bits and pieces left behind, including the registry entries that were created. Some of these settings are kept during a normal uninstall, and stay persistant when you reinstall the application.
After it has been completely removed, try the reinstall and see if your problem still exists. If so, please post back.
