As the unit is obsolete, the repair could easily cost more than the unit's worth. Consider buying a used one off Ebay (currently there are 9 units available. One going as low as $16 + shipping.)

How do I adjust the pitch / rotation speed for the turntable of my Emerson NR305TT ?

If the pitch is adjustable then there will be a little round knob to adjust it near the pivot of the turntable tonearm. If not the pitch is not adjustable.

How do i find a turntable cartridge technics headshell SL-BD22

The SL-BD22 turntable's tonearm does not have a headshell. It takes a P-mount (otherwise known as a T4P) cartridge which plugs directly into the end of the arm.

Need to know how to adjust tone arm and anti-skate

Get one of those little mini-digital scales that should sell for about $30 or less. Make sure it reads in 0.1 or 0.01 increments. Unplug the turntable (so the platter doesn't spin) and place the scale in the tonearm path. Most tonearm and headshell combos should work well in the 1.0 to 1.5 g range. Weigh the tonearm balancing on the scale about midway through the path (where it would be in the center of the record)

I used a flat plastic credit size card to protect the stylus on the surface. Don't forget to tare the scale to 0. Attempt to calibrate your weight scale adjustment on the tonearm to match the scale while you are at this. Once you have found a setting that works for you, match that marking on the weight scale adjustment on the anti-skate wheel.

You should have a turntable that sounds nice and is also gentle on your records!

My headshell will no longer lock onto the tonearm locking nut both my headshells lock on my other turntable. Does this mean i have to replace the tonearm

Hi, there is no need to replace the entire tonearm. I can supply you with the very end part which is held in by two screws. Styluscity@gmail.com. John

Tonearm Weight, Good Replacement Stylus, Gain level

Most good turntables will track with weights between 1.25 and 1.5 grams. Any more than that and you are putting alot of pressure on the needle. Experiment a bit and make sure that the needle tracks well and that the sound is good. The less weight you use, the longer the needle will last and the less wear on the record.

Missing Parts

You need a headshell unit (which is needle etc for the front of arm)
also the felt pad.. also known as a slipmat, you can pick up at dj supplies shops or on ebay..
I need a counterweight myself as my ION turntable also had missing parts when I got it as a gift.
I found a headshell on ebay which is perfect...Turntable Cartridge and Headshell Black DJ DISCO USB on eBay (end time 08-Sep-09 00:11:01 BST)
I havent yet found a counterweight..I hope I will!
Hope this helps in some way..

The PCL-30 does not look like a standard headshell. I doubt the above answer is correct.

Turntable skips during playback

The only thing I can say is to make sure you set up your cartridges correctly - click HERE FOR INSTRUCTIONS on BALANCING YOUR TONEARM properly.

If, you've balanced your tonearm, and set up your cartridges correctly, then you should not have any problems. Unless, your tonearms are damaged. But this is highly unlikely. I just think you need to balance properly.

Another note, Ortofon Concorde have a design flaw, in that they don't connect very well to the Technics tonearm. The Concorde's, have short and stubby connections on the rear, making for poor connections to the tonearm. Ortofon has addressed this issue by releasing the Ortofon OM series cartridges, and mount them to standard Technics Headshell.

If you still can't figure this out, feel free to give our techs a call 24/7 @ 1.866.668.1596 ext 1 - they can walk you through setting up, and properly testing your tonearm to see if it's damaged or not.

Major Hiss

The issue could be 1 of 3 things...

1) Cartridge / Headshell
2) Tonearm
3) RCA cables

or a combination.

Hard to isolate the issue. Make sure the cartridge/headshell wires are connected properly. Does the his go away when you touch the tonearm? How about the RCA cables? If so, then that is usually the culprit. Did you buy this new or used? If new, I would suggest returning it, or excersizing the warranty.

If the tonearm is the issue, this is not something I would suggest you replace on your own, as it is rather complicated.

Here is a site to buy all the parts you need for your unit:

http://1200s.com/Store/PARTS-TECHNICS-TURNTABLES/c271_272_278/index.html

Just pick the model you need parts for. You can use any good quality RCA cables, but soldering is required in order to replace.

Hope this helps.
