Low C can be many things, has it overheated? it can be leaking head gasket, burnt or worn out valves/guides or cracked rings. Check for smoke to help rule out the rings, short of an upper engine tear down, you won't know which, a basic leakdown test on the cylinder may help determine

What is causing my 94 Saturn SC2 to loose power while driving on the highway at 60 mph

Possibly the throttle body is dirty and clogged and not allowing proper fuel. Possibly bad fuel pump causing low fuel pressure. Possible problems with the exhaust system (clogged muffler or catalytic converters). Are you getting CEL (check engine light) when this happens?

Have you checked the compression in the cylinders? Low compression can cause stalling.

Could be a number of things, first it could be bad rings or it could be bad valves. If the engine was run hot it also could be a wropt head.

Low compression in cyl #3

that means your rings, valves, or head gasket are going bad beyond the normal aging of all the cylinders. the number 3 was the first to go on my 91 DOHC too. the car is nearly 20, and that stuff happens with age and use. I would look around for a low mileage DOHC Saturn engine from a 94 SC2 or SL2. the engine is so old that to fix it you will have to rebuild it which will cost far more than the 500 dollars the whole car is worth. the same engine was in them from 92-94, possibly even a 95. make darn sure you find a DOHC engine and not the SOHC, they look almost the same but they are not interchangeable unless you change the transmission, the exhaust, all the wheels, and the speedometer.

My 1999 Ford windstar acts like its going to die when stopped and dies when pulled from park to reverse...... mechanic just said its caused by the 5th cylinder. What in the cylinder is causing it?

If anything he ment cylinder contribution. # 5 is not contibuting,1999 windstar uses a waste spark system when a cylinder does not contribute it can be from no spark,to that cylinder to low compression. If its spark related spark plugs and wire will be needed . I am also going to say the coil pack why because your going from park to drive to reverse and #5 not contributing it affects #1 also. Now the compression. It cant contribute if the compression is low. If the compression is low you ll need to trouble shoot that area before you go any further.because a tune up cant fix a low compression

scan check egr valve make sure its working. check plug wires and vacuum hoses +pvc valve make sure its not stuck open.bad or dirty fuel injections.causes rough idling.if all is good do a compression test to check for weak cylinders or low compression.

If the Cylinder has that much fuel in it you probally have a stuck open fuel injector in that cyclinder. As far as the compression, you should have at least 125psi on the low end of the scale.hope this helps
