My master built electric smoker is not holding the 200 degree heat?

How cold outside was it and was there wind? Even though they are insulated smokers you still have to help block the wind. And was your damper open? Keep it cracked open, if it's open all the way your losing all the heat and the element has to keep running to reach temp. Otherwise inside you should had a round metal fuse n next to that should be a rod sticking out from the back wall that is your temp control sensor it might have junk on it giving false reading, just wipe off with damp cloth. Hope this helps

Parkray room heater - seems to be burning more coal than ever before, constantly boiling the water which then has to be run off.

Solid fuel room heaters with a back boiler can have fairly complex air and damping controls. Driving older types was just as complex as driving a car, though slower, with the boiler damper, flue damper and air control.

In time manaufacturers wanted to widen the appeal of the products and began to refine the designs and make some of the functions automatic or semi-automatic.

I suggest you revisit the instruction manual and if you can't make the fire slumber, or damp it down so it sleeps for the night or close down the hot water, it is probably something inside has seized or broken.

Using excess fuel and constantly boiling the water is a sure sign too much combustion air is reaching the coals. If the coals glow brightly from the fire base excess air is entering the ash space or getting in below the fire basket. If the base is cooler and the top of the fire is hotter the air is being drawn across the fire. This is difficult to avoid if the design uses an air curtain to keep flame and soot away from the door glasses but it could mean an internal air passage needs clearing.
It could be time to take the heater apart for a thorough clean, inspection, replace gaskets and any corroded or broken parts including the clay liners.

Good luck!

My check your air suspension warning light came on. I checked the book that came with the car and it said, it could be in the electic part of it. So my question to u is what can the electric part be?

It's mostly electronic , There is a control module ,sensor's at the corners ,wheels , an electric compressor to pump air to raise the vehicle .
You don't say what make , model an year vehicle but there all pretty much the same . This is for a Cadillac Deville
The electronic suspension control (ESC) system consists of the following components:
Electronic suspension control (ESC) module (3)

Four dampers contained in the 2 front struts (5 and 6) and the 2 rear shock absorbers (1 and 9)

Four positions sensors (2, 4, 7, and 8)

ALC air compressor module (10)

Damper relay (not shown)

ELC relay (not shown)

The ESC system with rear automatic level control (ALC) controls damping forces in the front struts and rear shock absorbers in response to various road and driving conditions. The rear ALC portion of the system maintains a proper vehicle trim height under various vehicle load conditions. For more information on the ALC, refer to Automatic Level Control Description and Operation in Automatic Level Control.
The ESC module receives the following inputs: wheel-to-body position, vehicle speed, and lift/dive. The ESC module evaluates these inputs and controls actuators in each of the dampers independently to provide varied levels of suspension control.
Your best bet is take it to the dealer !

2003 Yukon Denali has Service ride Control Warning..wat to do?

Hi Jose:
The first place to start is to have Ride Control Module scanned for trouble codes, this requires a high end scan tool. Most common problem is the air compressor in the rear or a height sensor. Here is how the system works.

Automatic Level Control Description and Operation
The RTD system is bi-state real time damping system. The Suspension Control module controls the suspension damper solenoids and suspension position sensors, along with parts of the automatic level control (ALC) system and electronic variable orifice (EVO) power steering system.

The Automatic Level Control system consists of the following:
• Suspension Control Module
• Compressor/Leveling Module
- Air Pressure Sensor
- Exhaust Solenoid
• Compressor Motor Relay

The objective of the Automatic Level Control System is to provide constant ride height at all load conditions. The Suspension Control module monitors body-to-wheel height, and vehicle speed.

The Suspension Control module will use the rear body-to-wheel displacements and vehicle speed inputs to keep the rear trim height of the vehicle at its desired level.

The electronic suspension control (ESC) system is bi-state real time damping system. The ESC module controls the suspension damper solenoids and suspension position sensors, along with parts of the automatic level control (ALC) system, if 1500 series.

The ESC system consists of the following:
• The ESC module
• The compressor/leveling module, if 1500 series
- The air pressure sensor, if 1500 series
- The exhaust solenoid, if 1500 series
• The compressor motor relay, if 1500 series
• The steering handwheel speed/position sensor
• The suspension damper solenoids
• The suspension position sensors

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

My battery gets empty quickly............Why??

Please go to control panel, and then check power options. If high performance is selected then please switch to balanced or power saver to get better battery life.
Also running power hungry games or programs drains the battery far quickly than just surfing the internet so consider gaming only when your laptop is connected to the socket.
If however after all this you still seem to have a very short battery life (less than 2hours) then consider checking your battery for wear. Signs of wearing include taking a very long time to charge and often not achieving a 100 percent charged status. If so then think about replacing the battery to either the same or a bigger 9-cell battery.

I have a side by side unit. The freezer is working but the refrigerator is not getting as cold and i have it on the coldest setting.

Your model has an auto damper=> 61005971 Auto Damper Click here for=> Auto Damper Test
The part is also called => Damper Control Assembly
We will need to do the Auto Damper Test first and if fails replace the auto damper. Let me know what you find. May appear hard to do but once the part is removed it becomes easy. Click Here=> Auto Damper Location Part number 8 in photo is the auto damper. They have a thermostat bulb that controls the air to fresh food section. If that thermostat goes bad the door may stick shut or full open causing these symptoms. If you need more help please ask and I would be happy to walk you through the process, Please Rate if this helps and ask if the damper is OK. In that case we may have a defrost problem restricting air flow, let me know and I will instuct you on how to solve that. These dampers fail an I feel it is the problem yet so many different things and appliances anything may be possible, I will help youi solve this either way! Thanks, Sea Breeze

The damping oil seals (dust seals) may just be worn and require replacement. If this is the case then £10-£15 for a pair and 2hours work (or £30-£40 for labour and parts if done by a mechanic).

My 99 siverado is getting harder to start especially in cooler and damper weather. Could it be the ETC engine temperature control valve? Jim

Hi, Jim, my name is Ben. I am going to use your dampness description as a possible cause. Your spark plug wires may be worn out and "arcing" with the dampness. With the engine running, get a spray bottle filled with water and lightly spray the wires. It's best if you even do this in a shady area, and look for sparking. Don't soak the engine, just a light mist should be good to check the spark plug wires.

Older model fridge freezes on the refrig. side

check the damper door and see if its iced up this is between the refrige and freezer compartments and lets cold into refrige from freezer,if it ices up in the open condition the refrige control cant change the temp, defrost the door and then see if the control moves the door,if so also check the door seals to make sure they are sealing good so as not to let warm air in that can condense and freeze things like the damper door
