SOURCE: IBM Thinkcentre m50 video card

Hi, i'm getting an ATI Radeon 2600XT for this system soon. But any AGP card *should* work fine (i'm hoping), just stick to midrange cards due to the low-grade power supply. I will post after the install and let you know how it goes.

SOURCE: I can't find the right Geforce Graphic card for my

The problem is like this...I have this Corvette engine I want to put into a 1915 Ford model A....

Does the mother board have a PCI or AGP slot? Its most likely it has a PCI slot(s). Find a Geforce card in the 5800, 6800 GS, GX or GTX range.

If it has an AGP slot, the you could also get the Geforce 7800GTS, the fastest AGP card out there. don't bother with anything less than the X800 (5600, 6200, 6600, 7500 7600) style cards, the chips are over clocked to make up for the slower GPU, and are prone to over heating if you try to over clock even more.

You could still find new ones, but I would recommend checking out the used computer stores first, you could find a great price. Nvidia will have all the drives you'll need.

Mone more thing, put as much RAM in to you comuter as you can get, 512 isn't going to help much, try to get 2 GB into it, it will make a huge differance.

Good luck

SOURCE: bought a used IBM ThinkCentre

if you have any discs in the dvd remove them... it should boot to the hard drive when it doesn't find anything in the dvd. if you need to install an operating system put that disc in the dvd and boot from it. during the installation it will start to run off the hard drive. when you are done installing remove the installation disc.

SOURCE: IBM Thinkcentre 8183 after update

This machine is designed for XP and will not run properly on Win7
There are no drivers for the graphics and the motherboard may not accept another VGA board, due to its age.

different pc has different bios beeps depends on the bios manufacturer, but in your situation it is most likely you have problem with your video device. is it connected in video card or directly plug in the built in video port of the pc? if its connected in video card, remove video card temporarily then connect it to built in video ports, or vice versa, if your in built in video port you can try testing it with video card in pcie slot.

MAXIMUM CPU FOR IBM M51 = Pentium 4 650
3,40 GHZ / 2M CACHE / FSB 800 / HT / SOCKET 775 ( SL7Z7 or SL8Q5 ) they take 84 Watt, by the way, change the power supply, with connections for Pcie x16 graph-cards ,like 800 Watt. HD cards are not supportet, Max.- card is ATI x1950 Pcie x16 512MB. Do not try the ATI 5450 will not work.

Processors:
DO NOT THINK ABAUT THE P4, 651 / 660 / or 661 ,will not work .( multiplier is 17 ) and not supportet by the mainboard and chipset.

I have an IBM thinkcentre A30 8199 pc desktop with and AGP slot, the bios always read the on board video card . i can`t get any agp card to work on my pc. claude_lavergne@cepeo.on.ca

Go into the BIOS and disable the on-board video. With the system powered off, turn on the system and hit enter when it says "To interrupt normal startup, press Enter". Alternatively, press F1 on startup. Turn off the system if you get to the login screen and try again. Go through the BIOS menu to enable the AGP slot. (IIRC go to the line for Video and toggle On-board or AGP. My system is a A50p but it's been a while since I put in my video card.) Then exit the BIOS (save your changes) and shut down the system.

Do this step before adding the new card. Make sure that your power supply is sufficient to support the video card (and attach the power cable to the card). Make sure the card is fully seated in the slot.

If you continue to have a problem, go to the site and download the diagnostic program and see if you have a hardware issue with the slot or the card. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?subcategoryind=0&familyind=121127&brandind=11&doccategoryind=0&modelind=0&doctypeind=9&validate=true&partnumberind=0&sitestyle=lenovo&template=%2Fproductpage%2Flandingpages%2FproductPageLandingPage.vm&operatingsystemind=49979&machineind=139045 under Diagnostics in the drop down menu.

I hope this helps.
