How do i do a hard reset on a magellen maestro 4040?

  • 1 Slide the Magellan GPS unit's powericon1.png switch to the off position, if your GPS has a two-way slide-style switch. Hold the switch in the off position for 8 seconds or more to reset the device.
  • 2 Slide the switch to the reset position if your GPS has a three-way switch. These switches feature "Reset," "Off" and "On" labels. Hold the switch on the reset position for 10 seconds to initiate a reset.
  • 3 Inspect your GPS for a reset pin hole if the unit has a push-down power button rather than a switch -- check the bottom and sides of the device for a pin-sized hole. Insert a pin or a straightened paperclip into the hole, pushing until you feel a slight pop. Hold the pin or clip down for 10 seconds and the GPS will reset.

Wall switch keeps going off when reset is hit

    Question posted under MP3 player?
    You have wall switch.
    You have a short circuit.
Unknown what reset is being pushed.
    Is this a GFCI reset?
Is this a switch-outlet GFCI combo?
What happens when your switch 'goes off?'
Do you mean that the light connected to the switch turns off?

What happens when wall switch is set to off position?
Can the reset be reset successfully when switch is OFF?

Add a comment and include more details about the type of switch, and type of reset button, and include if this is new installation or if the device worked before and started tripping, for best possible help.

Log in to the switch as an administrative user (using the login command).

You can type the following command:

    reset {config|system}

If you type "reset config" all of the factory default settings are restored on the switch except for the IP address, user
accounts, and the switch history log.

If you type "reset system" all of the factory default settings are restored on the switch.

If you just type "reset" by itself, the switch’s current IP address, user accounts, and switch history log are retained. All other
parameters are restored to their factory default settings.
