I have resolved the problem. My TV is not ARC compatible to read audio through the HDMI cable. I purchased a Optical Audio cable TOS and put it into my TV and Surround Sound Pioneer VSX-532 still no sound.. I turned of Anynet+ on my TV I then turned off ARC on my Receiver. I then noticed that each device connection (GAME, DVD, TV, BD) has a setting for Audio Parameters (HMDI or Analogue) once I changed to Analogue, I could change the signal to Optical 1. And then sound still remained on my TV until i switched from TV internal speakers to external speakers and it resolved the problem.. I hope this helps anybody who has an older TV without HDMI ARC. Cheers!....

SOURCE: Vertical hardly noticeable lines appearing on my samsung led tv

If you've cleaned the connexion between the motherboard and the display panel, I'm afraid the likely problem is the display panel.

If you have a friendly local repair shop, they might take a look at it and test with a replacement panel to diagnose the problem.

When selecting the source, HDMI 2 will not highlight, Only TV. HDMI cable connected to box and to HDMI2 port on TV

You have to check the HDMI cable. In Samsung tvs the HDMI sources only highlights if the a proper HDMI sources is connected to the corresponding HDMI port of the tv. Also check by connecting any other device which have and HDMI connectivity to the HDMI 2 port.

You need a HDMI out on the Pioneer and a HDMI in on the TV. Then use a HDMI cable to connect the two. The input on the TV needs to be the same as the HDMI in port.

Have hooked up system according to manual (I think) using HDMI, to Samsung plasma set. Also have audio cable hooked up (from subwoofer to tv). Get absolutely no sound through system. I imagine I have...

Look on the back of your TV for an HDMI port that has "ARC" on it, connect that to the HDMI Out on the subwoofer. Make sure that your HDMI cable supports ARC. That is the only connection you should need to the subwoofer, remove everything else. Other option is an optical cable between the TV and the Subwoofer.

I just discovered this after fooling around with it for the past couple of days!

Installing a pioneer home theatre dvd/speaker system.

On page 36 of the Pioneer users manual, it describes how to set your audio for HDMI interconnect. Follow the directions, and hopefully it will work. You can down load the manual from the Pioneer web site. Google "speaker system HTZ171 DVD". Click on the Pioneer site for your system and look for the download on the right side of page.
I hope this was helpful...

Sound Problems with HD TV

This seems to be a problem that has to do with your HDMI audio output.
First check in your TV setting if audio out is selected on your correct HDMI port. Than check if your receiver is able to receive audio via HDMI (i assume you used the HDMI connection). Some receivers have HDMI IN connections but are not able to receive audio on it, the latest receivers/sets do have this feature. If your receiver doesnot support audio IN via HDMI you can only do one thing, connect the stereo audio-out of your TV to an AUX IN connection on your receiver.
