SOURCE: 2 PS1 games in almost perfect condition arn't working on PS2

Try wiping the disks in a circular motion with a cotton t-shirt, tissue or cleaning cloth, then try again. If it still doesn't work, try a PS2 game. If it works, try another PS1 game. If the other PS1 game doesn't work, the PS1 part of your PS2 system may be broken. Your PS2 has, inside of it, a miniaturized PS1. If that mini-PS1 breaks, you can't play PS1 games. If the PS2 game doesn't work, you probably need a lens repair. If the other PS1 game works, then your games are defective and you should get new ones.

SOURCE: i recently dug out my very old ps1 my Crash

You can try cleaning the back of the disk with a little bit of toothpaste. The abrasives in the toothpaste help buff off some minor scratches. If that doesn't work its legal to emulate games on your computer if you already own them. "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzfx3-nxRHQ&feature=related" The linked video demonstrates how to do this on a pc

I have sonyplaystion 1 yes i no old.....can i buy sonyplaysation 2 games for the playstaion 1 console.....

No, it will not be compatible. If you would like to play PS1/PS2, and eventually PS3 games, look into buying a original launch "Backwards Compatible" PS3. The model is CECHAO1. Good luck.

Playstation froze; will not play PS3 games or PS1 games

Hi this is a huge problem with ps3 it can be one of two problems the first is the expensive one this is over heating if the ps3 has been used on carpet or placed on top of something like dvd player or video or cable or sky box this causes the ps3 to overheat and the damage is usually to expensive to repiar the other problem alot of people are having is with the fan blowing dust onto the laser lense and this causes the ps3 two stop laying certain games if your warrant has run out you could remove the case and clean the lense but dont use any kind of liquid only use dry cloth but a soft one do it gently.
I dont avise doing this if your ps2 still has warranty left as this fault is covered by warranty and they will replace your ps3.
Im going out for couple of hours now so if you need further assistance let me know ok

I have a playstation 1 game that i play on my 3,

Yes, GameStop and EB games both sell an adaptor you can buy, I believe it's around $20 that allows you to save and copy your data from the PS3. I have Gran Turismo 3 and I had just about everything in it on my PS2; I thought I had to start all over when I got my PS3 but I got one of these adapters and it worked wonders. Same applies for PS1 games.

Good luck and if I've helped you please give me a good rating.

Respectfully,

Don

Can not create internal memory card, whenever I try I returned back to the screen that says name a internal memory card.

http://ps3explained.com/intermediate/internal-memory-cards/
Create an Internal Memory Card on the PLAYSTATION 3 system HDD as follows:

1. Navigate to [Memory Card Utility (PS/PS2)] under [Game] on the XMB.
2. Press “X” to bring up the “New Internal Memory Card” option.
3. Tell the PLAYSTATION 3 which format you want it to create. PS2 or PS1.
4. Highlight “OK” and press “X” to finish creating the memory card.

Note that you can make new saves on this card while playing PS2 or PS1 games on the PS3, but it does not allow you to transfer saves from a physical memory card to the PS3's HDD. You need the memory card adapter to do that.

Hey mygz43,

Unfortunately, there is no direct way to convert PS1 games over to your PSP without altering the system’s firmware and possibly violating several end-user license agreements in the process.

Sony does however, support a function of the PSP called "remote play" that allows you to play content that is currently loaded into a Playstation 3 you own over a WLAN, home network or via internet access. Typically this means that you would need to physically have a PS1 disc in the PS3 in order to play it, though content that is stored on the PS3's hard drive can also be played as well. Please remember though that not all PS3 models are backwards compatible to the PS1, and some titles may encounter graphical glitches or playback errors.

If you would like more information on this function, I would strongly suggest checking out Sony's support page for further details and step-by-step instructions:

http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/psp/current/network/remoteplay/

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron

PS3

Ps3 supports over 1000 ps1 and ps2 titles. Make sure you hook your ps3 up to the internet and download the latest firmware updates. Odds are your system will be able to play all or most of your ps2 games once you update the ps3 online.
