Question about HP Compaq nw8440 Notebook

What is my Laptop's Bluetooth Pairing "Passcode?"

I am attempting to pair my Nokia 6085 Phone with my Compaq nw8440 laptop. However, the Nokia keeps asking for the laptop's "passcode," which I don't have, and can't determine how to change/set it.

No, *not* the Cell Phone's PIN. I have that. It's *after* I enter that, that the Nokia asks for a "passcode." And, there is no way to move forward unless some data is entered.

NO, please READ what I'm typing. That is NOT what is happening. I do what you say, and then the phone asks for a "Passcode." I must then enter *something* to proceed. And, no matter what I type in, I get a "Pairing Failed" response.

I cannot pair the SPH-M300 phone with my laptop using the PIN code 0000, how do I establish the PIN code of the handset?

When you turn the bluetooth on and try to pair the laptop and the phone, the phone should automatically ask you for a passcode. You could try pairing the other way around, instead.

  • Step 1 Look on the back of your headset or speakerphone for the Bluetooth passcode for the device. Typically the pairing code for headsets is printed on a sticker that is then placed on the underside of the accessory.
  • Step 2 Go into the Bluetooth menu on your cell phone to find the passcode for your cellphone. The Bluetooth menu for your phone is typically located under the "Settings" menu. In the Settings menu there should be an option to "Get code" or something comparable, which would allow you to find the code for your phone.
  • Step 3 Go into the Settings menu for your computer to find its Bluetooth passcode. Some laptops will randomly generate a new Bluetooth passcode for you each time you want to pair them with a new device. In that case the menu setting you're looking for is something like "Generate new pairing code."
  • Step 4 Look in the instruction book for your Bluetooth accessory if you cannot find the passcode attached to the device or in its menu. Many manufacturers will print the passcode for devices in their instruction book. If you still can't find the passcode, try using all zeros.

Search for audio enhancements and the device that you want to connect to the phone.

Nokia 6102i will not detect my BH-600

Hey I found the solution :
    1. When the headset is off, press and hold the multifunction key until the indicator light is continuously displayed.

    2. Switch on your compatible phone.

    3. Activate the Bluetooth feature on the phone, and set the phone to search for Bluetooth devices.

    4. Select the headset from the list of
    found devices.

    5. Enter the passcode 0000 to pair and connect the headset to your phone.

In some phones you may need to make the connection separately after pairing. You only need to pair the headset with your phone once.

If the pairing is successful, the indicator light starts to flash slowly, and the headset appears in the phone menu where you can view the currently paired Bluetooth devices.

The headset is now ready for use.

    Enjoy..
