Many of the modern remotes have no codes for VCR only CD/DVD. The VCR generation is supposed to be dead as no big players are making them anymore. One can purchase Digital Video recorders which will record on Hard Disc or directly on CD/DVD's with out any loss of picture quality.And some of the recorders can record more than 500 hours of High Quality videos !!!

Have the eye cleaned or replaced

I have purchased a new VCR/CD player. I tried everything, but nothing worked. I did purchase another Magnavox, but if this machine does not perform any longer than the first one, I will not purchase another one. The reason I purchased a Magnavox this time was that there were no other products available in my town.

Often times(more often than we'd wish) your brand of television, vcr etc. is not on the list. They all offer a code search sequence which is gruleing to say the least. Some times you may contact the company and they will give you the right code.Thanks, Dana

I am assuming that your TV has Video IN source selection.

You need to use the Video/Audio OUTput of the VCR/CD and connect them to the Video/Audio INput of the TV. To do this you would have to use a 3-wire shielded cable with male RCA connectors color yellow, red & white.
RCA male connectors, yellow is usually video, red/white is audio left/right.

as shown OUT of VCR/CD to IN of TV.

Pnce done, play the VCR/CD with a good known CD or tape and set TV to Video mode.

Transfering VCR to CD is much more complicated than going the other way and you will need to give a lot more details first.

DVD players will play CD's and MUSIC CD-R's. Some will play MP3's IF the unit is so designed. You would see the 'MP3' logo on the front.
