Question about Xincom XC-DPG503 (859273000053) Router

3 Answers

DeviceModel: DPG503 FirmwareVersion: Ver 3.3 Rel 02 Description: We are adding VOIP phone service through our DSL ISP - Speakeasy. The phone requires a Dynamic IP and a DHCP server. The instrument is a Linksys IP Phone #SPA942. The DHCP server has been enabled in our router. Our WAN 1 is a static IP and WAN 2 is dynamic. There are enough places in the IP Range and I can see the status as "offer pending" but the phone is not makingits network connection. UPnP is enabled with 30 min Advertisement Interval We use a 16 port hub in addition to the router. Can you offer any guidance or participate in a remote session in an effort to establish the correct router configurations that would permit IP phone use ? Thanks Mark Antin

IP phone has been cold booted.
Router has not been powered down due to numerous
    24x7 processes.

    Wired connections only.
    No WiFi.

IP phone and ISP expect DHCP connection.

If the rect of your system is hard wired. what you might need to try is disconnect the router from your server for about 2min,unplug the power to the router,if this router has a backup battery remove that as well, connect the voip wire while off. reconnect your router to your unit with backup battery out(if so equipt) turn router on.this should reset and recognize.the new terminal.lf so then put battery back in. If not you should call your IP provider, you may need to do a reset through them.hope this help's

HI there,

For clarification:

did you try to reset the device and the router installed on your place?

better to reset them both to make another pairing/connections to the DHCp server.

Let me know

Your router is likely configured to not "Broadcast" its SSID name. You need to reconfigure the router to broadcast the SSID.

If you are having trouble connecting to the internet, please try these steps.

1.Unplug the power to your modem. Hi, I need to connect my comSwitch 5500 to the Cable/internet/VOIP. Command Communications ComSwitch 5500 is a Telephone Line Sharing system- (automatic phone/Fax Switch) sold under the following...

I'm not one hundred percent sure on this, but it does look like you need a separate phone line since VOIP revolves around using your internet as a gateway for making phone calls. And since majority of VOIP uses ethernet connections, or wireless, there is no phone line to use.

I recently moved from Cable ISP to DSL ISP service. For the DSL service, I was asked to configure my Router to use PPPoE with Dynamic IP addressing. I also provided the router with my username and password...

The reason you have no internet is because the router is specifically for cable. your description contains errors what i think you mean is that you have gone from cable dsl to an adsl, correct me if i am wrong. Basically your modem connected to your router via an ethernet cable and then the router fed the wireless signal to your wireless devices or via ethernet through the 4 ports in the back. With adsl you have a feed from your phone line to an adsl modem so the only way for you to get the dsl router working is to have two ethernet leads connecting to your pc, one from the modem to the pc and one from the pc to the router. You would also need to setup internet sharing on the pc thats connected to both devices.

Either do it that way or buy an adsl router

Calls cutting out with magic jack

Your ISP connection speed may be inadequate. Typically, the upload speed (outgoing voice) is much slower than the incoming speed. To check majicjack recommends that you test your system on http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ .
It's also possible that your internet provider is purposely delaying the outgoing latency in order to discourage VoIP that THEY don't provide. I think this is (or at least should be illegal) but in any case a complaint to the FCC might be in order.

You must have a voip router from your voip phone company (vonage,t-mobile). It should not work at all unless you have one of these devices. Hope this helps

DSL loses signal during VOIP call.

hi,

i worked for verizon for two years and I encounter this problem many times,to tell you honestly, its not with you internet connection since if you'll notice, while you are connected to the internet and you make a call or call someone, its interrupted... Obviously, its the phone itslelf, the signal comng from the phone is different from the signal of the internet...thats the reason why you need a modem to convert the signal coming from the phone line to make it work for internet,,,what I suggest is you change the DSL plan from the Dry Loop to the regular dsl with the phone...

thanks and God Bless

My linksys BEFSR ver.3.1 S/N C2140DA22073, constantly drops my internet cinnection after a few minutes of none activity.

Do you use DSL for your connection?

DSL uses a phone line for the connection, and therefore if your ISP doesn't detect activity after a few minutes, it will drop the line. There is a setting called "keep alive" in your router which will automatically either redial or 'ping' your ISP to make sure this doesn't happen. It's in the basic setup screen; if you're using DSL enable it and set it to 1 minute.
