SOURCE: Replace Panasonic PT-60DL54J Lamp (TY-LA2004)

This is a link to AVS for Panny PT-50LC (LCD) which I assume must be the same for the DLP.

With the TV powered off (make sure it's off for a few minutes before trying this, or you'll wait for the customary cooldown period before anything happens if you turn the set off and try this stuff immediately), press and hold both the "VOLUME Down" button on the TV itself and the TV/VIDEO key on the remote control simultaneously for about 7 seconds. The TV will be turned on and it will have a screen of status data atop an active TV channel. To get out of this mode TURN OFF your TV.

This initial "SERVICE MODE 1/3" screen shows -

LAMP OPERATION TIME
TOTAL :
CURRENT LAMP:
OSD DISPLAY :

SOURCE: I have a panasonic model

Hi, I have the fix for you....EXIT out of the message telling you to reset you meter. Now you need to push the - vol (neg vol) button on you set, at the same time push the split button on your remote (very bottom of the remote is the split button with the vcr controles) You need to push these at the same time for 20 or more seconds and you will recieve a message that the metter has been reset. Exit out of that message and all should be fine. Took me about 15 minutes to get to a tech to walk me through it.

SOURCE: Panasonic PT-60LCX64. What would happen if you

you won't get another warning for 2000 more hours on a lamp that is good for only 2000 hours (give or take). so, if you don't replace it, you run the risk of the lamp exploding at the end of it's life, sending shards of glass and mercury dust throughout the projector.

These blinks (flashes) are fault indication. By the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can vet an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. Count the blinks occur at one time switch ON, carefully. Do it once again, and make sure about the number of blinks. If the flashes are continious, non-stop, the main system control IC should be suspected. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. It has blinking codes detail to many brand TVs. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Check the site in 'Mosaic' view. It will make search easy.

2) While pressing and holding down VOL DOWN button on the TV, press and hold down the SPLIT DVD/VCR CH UP button on the remote until a message appears on the screen that the lamp timer has been reset. If this does not work, use SPLIT DVD/VCR CH DOWN instead.

How to reset the meter of lamp

You need to have your Panasonic remote.
1. Make sure the power cord is plugged into a properly grounded outlet and turn on the set with the power button on the projection unit or the remote control.

2. While holding down the (VOL -) key on the projection unit press the PIP or SPLIT key at the same time. Hold it for longer than 5 Seconds. The PIP or SPLIT key is model specific:

PIP for Models:
PT-50LC13/PT-60LC13/PT-50LCX63/
PT-60LCX63/PT-43LCX64/
PT-50LCX64/PT-60LCX64

SPLIT for Models:
PT-43LC14/PT-50LC14/PT-60LC14

3. When the unit resets the lamp timer it will display a screen on the TV indicating it was reset to zero. You press recall on the remote to exit.
