All the kenwood units have a remote wire and its either blue or blue with a white trace, if you want to test it use a multimeter and not a test lamp as the current output is miliamps and you may damage the unit

Why won't my amps work for the cd player but will work for the radio

You have used the wrong remote wire to signal your amplifier.
swap the blue's around.
You are using the Power Antenna remote - which drops out if another source besides TUNER is selected - so the power antenna goes down.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.

No power

blue wire goes to remote on your amp. You blew the radio fuse but also check the dome fuse and see if that went out. GOOD LUCK

CODE

I found this on a forum and some people got it to work, If you do not have the remote I do not know any more about what to do for you.

During the code request mode, while holding the DISP key depressed, press and hold the Volume UP or DOWN key for 3 seconds (so that “…” disappears).
Then using your remote enter your code

Kenwood kdc-mp528 amp/speaker problem???

This is a common mistake. This problem indicates that you are using the solid blue wire from the head unit to the remote turn-on on the amp. This is a power antenna wire that only receives power when on FM radio. You need to replace this with the Blue & White wire from the head unit (power control wire) to your remote turn-on on your amp. This should solve your issue.
