HP Pavilion DVD player won't eject but plays the dvd

Try goint to My Computer and right click on the DVD player. If the eject works, the external eject switch is not working. If not, the mechanism is misaligned or damaged.

Eject key is not working

A. Restart your computer and try again. If that does not work, then right click on the disc you're looking to eject and hit the eject button available there in the box that comes up. If you can't right click then It's either command click or another one of the buttons down there on the left hand side. I'm not around my Mac at the moment.

How to eject an apple cd?

If eject (top right corner on keyboard) doesn't work, power down, then as you turn it on, simultaneously hold the eject & cd should come out. If that doesn't work, repeat(power down/power on) & hold eject & escape (esc) buttons

Door will not open

make sure the drive is not reading a disk, because if its spinning it can break when you do this process.

look for a hole in the front of the drive, get a paper clip and stick it in there all the way, the tray will now eject or if its a slot loading drive the cd will eject

I want to eject cd from cd rom apple system imac

To eject a CD/DVD that is not recognized by your computer, boot up while holding down the eject button on your keyboard, and continue to hold down eject until the disk ejects.

If this does not work, hold down your mouse button while booting up in the same way.

If neither of these work, open Terminal and type in the following:

drutil tray eject

If your disc does still not eject, your optical drive likely needs repair.

Disc not ejecting

Try the force eject (holding down the eject button for a few seconds until you see the blue light flash consistently) if that does not work try switching the power switch at the back ON while pressing the eject button at the same time causing the fans to blow at maximum rate & might eject your disc (Only let it blow for a few seconds on max power otherwise this could potentially burn up your graphics card!)

I can't eject a dvd from my mac pro desktop

Try these tips.....usually holding down the touchpad buttton while tapping the eject button during bootup works.

picexporterror Shut down the computer and start up whilst holding down the mouse button. This may take some time, but keep your finger on the mouse button right up until the disc comes out or the log-in screen has appeared.
picexporterror If you have Toast Titanium installed on your computer, choose EJECT DISC from the menubar.
picexporterror Sometimes you can successfully use the eject disc button in iTunes even if the disc is not visible to the Finder
picexporterror Open Disk Utility and choose the disc you wish to eject in the left-hand pane, then click on the Eject button.
picexporterror Some Macintoshes have a paperclip hole that you can insert a straightened paperclip into, manually triggering the eject mechanism.
picexporterror Open Terminal and type "drutil tray eject" to eject the disc/tray, and "drutil tray close" to close the tray.
picexporterror Restart the computer while holding down Command-Option-O-F, to enter the Open Firmware prompt. Type "eject cd" without the quotes, and press return. The disk ought to eject. To start into OS X, type "mac-boot" without the quotes. Press return, and the computer will continue with the startup. (This will not work on an Intel Mac. There is no Open Firmware on Intel Macs. )
picexporterror If your computer has an eject button on the keyboard, restart the computer holding down the Option key. When the startup disk selection screen appears, let go of the option key and press the keyboard's eject button.

The eject button is not working, I cannot get out a DVD - what can I do?

turn the console off then place your finger on the eject button and leave it there whilst pressing the power button to turn it on (leave your finger on the eject button the whole time) it should override the error if it is due to faulty hardware and eject the disk if it doesnt you have bigger problems
