Multiply the number by the percentage then divide by 100.
For example, to find 25% of 200, multiply 200 by 25 to get 5000, then divide by 100 to get 50.

calculators you do not usually get percents. Instead, you get values
which can be converted to a percent. For example what percent is 245 out
of 987. You divide 245/987=.248. This is essentially the same as saying
24.8 percent. You move the decimal over 2 values. You can also round to
get a nice percent number such as 25 percent.
If you are trying to put in a percent lets say you have to find 47% of 80. You just multiply .47 * 80= 38.4
