Why does my sky+ box sounds like there is a fan running constantly

Because it has a fan in it!

The hard drive and other processing electronics needs more cooling than passive convection can supply. Your fan has been running from day one. Maybe it's getting old and noisy which is why you are noticing it now

Why does cooling fan run constantly on 2004 pontiac sunfire

Have you checked the ecm for trouble codes ? The fan runs all the time as a safety to try to prevent the engine from overheating.

The hard drive indicator light of my Dell Inspiron 17 constantly flashes.

The hard drive LED is flashing because the video is data being retrieved from the hard drive. The fan runs high because the video card is working hard and creating a lot of heat. This causes the laptop to shut down.
How to fix
Get more memory.
Get a laptop cooler rest.
Get the dust and junk blown out of the inside of the laptop

Dell Dimension E520 Hard drive constantly buzzing

This could be a sign of a failing hard drive - I would backup all of your important documents immediately to an external drive to prevent you from losing any important data.

As you have already cleaned out the dust , there is a chance that one of the system fans (or the CPU fan) may be faulty or some wires inside your system case might be catching on the fan while it is spinning.

Disconnect all the system fans , so just the CPU fan is left plugged in and then switch on the system and see if the noise has stopped. Then plug each fan back in one at a time to identify if any of them are causing the noise.

Trouble with power up

depending on the kind of sound from the fan, you need to make sure nothing is in the fan path, and dust free, if not replace fan., about your drive to spin up, assuming you are refering to the Hard drive, replace the drive, seem to me the noise is coming from the hard drive, which indicate that your drive is about to go bad, time to back up your datas

Computer won't start up and has a constant tone.

If the noise is constant then it means the problem is either:

1: a Power supply issue
2: a motherboard issue
3: a keyboard problem

the latter of the three being the easiest to fix, try booting with your keyboard unplugged or even better if you have another keyboard try using it to see if that corrects the problem.

If the above does not work then you have a problem with 1 or 2, and in order to find out for certain you will need to test it, you can goto your local computer diagnostic store to see if they can check which it is.

and hope its not a problem with the motherboard.

Hope this helps, and Good Luck

My hp pavilion a830n fan comes on constantly and keeps running

I won't say that this is any type of solution but I have never seen a computer or hard drive where the fan didnt run all the time, as soon as I turn on any computer I've ever had the fan runs the whole time it's on.

Internal cooling fan inside the hard drive is constantly running loudly. This occurs after the system has come out of standby and user is on-line.

this is usually caused by two things - overheating on the drive or a faulty thermal sensor depending on which fan is doing all the work - is it a new machine? if still under warranty I would return for servicing. Hard drives do generate a lot of heat - - try improving the airflow to the case also.

cheers Pete
