Wait at least three minutes after the end of the cycle before attempting to unlock your Whirlpool washer. The door will not unlock until the motor speed equals 0 and 180 seconds have elapsed since the motor control unit received the "Stop" command. Check the heating element in the bottom of the unit for any signs its damaged. If looks OK, check its continuity, for a short to ground, and the voltage at the terminals.

You need a new pump/drain motor but before you buy one I suggest removing the old one I'm willing to bet some is blocking the impeller and it can't move which is a very common issue

Your drain pump filter probably needs cleaned. YouTube has several videos you can watch on how to do it. It's an easy fix. Type " whirlpool duet drain pump " into the search bar. Let me know if you have trouble.

Open and close the door to make sure the door latch is securely fastened.
Check the dishwasher wiring for a possible loose connection where it connects to the house wiring.
Fuses or circuit breakers.
Check your house fuses or circuit breakers to make sure you have power to the dishwasher.
