Brother 9420CN Jams in the fuser when Printing Color only

I have a Brother 9420CN that has been prinitng very well. It has a new fuser, fairly recent OPC belt and a new magenta toner. It will print Black and white all day long and never jam but the minute you try and copy or print any page with color it jams in the fuser. Your assistance would be helpful. I work in HP and Lexmark printers but this one may be out of my league. Please help.

OK, I understand that this could be a problem and how it might be causing the jam. So how do I correct the registration on this model to get it to stop jamming or rule our your suggestion and move on to another concern?

I have had the same exact problem; make absolutely sure that the exit chute is seating properly. With the exit chute open (as if to clear a paper jam) actuate the white spring loaded clips that hold the exit chute, mine were not traveling to their full extension and by moving them a few times this resolved and the exit chute was held more firmly and the rollers spin the right direction.

or may be
I think maybe you are missing the door that sits inside the rear door (called outer shute assy). When you open rear door there should be another before fuser.

There is something wrong with the calibration.Color printing adds complexity to the printing process because very slight misalignments known as registration errors can occur between printing each color, causing unintended color fringing, blurring, or light/dark streaking along the edges of colored regions. I assumed that it might have a alignment checker that jam the printing when misalignments was detected.

Paper jam after fuser replacement.

Since you reset the counter you reset your paper size .the paper detection flag ,spring that returns it to its h ome position knocked off. Check all your connectors and make sure the drive gears are meeting up. Most fusers have what they call a pivot gear. It has a spring that engages it to the main drive . Make sure there meeting up. Tip ,mark a gear and make sure it rotates. White out works well to mark a gear. You could have a bad part.

Konica Minolta 1690MF causing Fuser Paper Jam error when printing color. Does NOT happen when printing black and white. (Paper is genuinely stuck entering the fuser). Why is the problem happening for...

I was wondering if the original poster of this problem found a solution. My printer does the EXACT same thing. B & W printing is perfect. Any color print jams in the fuser. The printer feeds the paper too far (from thin copy paper to cardstock) so that the top of the page is cut off. Konica sent me a new fuser but that did not solve the problem. Again, this only happens when printing any page that has color on it (even a document with only one letter in color). B&W printing is unaffected.

While printing there is blank strip coming inbetween the page. Please let me know what should I do to remove it.

first you have to replace the toner catridge assembly. only after that you will be sure that the problem is in toner or in the fuser assembly.

Frequent Paper Jams in Brother HL-2140

Every 120,000 pages, the paper feed rollers, fuser, transfer roller, and OPC belt cartridge should be replaced, usually by a trained techncian.
Fuser and OPC belt units are customer-replacable.

The multiple feeding of the paper into the printer is due to a worn paper separation pad. part no. LM0711001. If the machine is picking up the paper okay and the jams occur solely from multiple sheet feeding, then this part is probably all you will need. The steps required to access and remove & replace the separation pad unfortunately is about 10 steps. Better consult a tech.

Unplug the printer and allow it to cool.  Then gently wipe off the surface of the photo-sensitive drum with a cotton swab.  If this doesn't work you may need to replace the drum.

Colour printing gives ghost image

Are you using genuine Brother color cartridges? If you are, then try different paper (20 pound laser printer paper or plain paper copier paper rather than inkjet paper,) Also, do not use recycled paper. If that does not work, you may need a new imaging (OPC belt) unit, or a new fuser assembly. Check your owners manual about when to replace the imaging unit or fuser. It is usually after 60, 000 prints have been run.

Paper jams out of the fuser

I had constant jamming problems (mostly with pages with a lot of color coverage) when I was refilling toner cartridges with cheap refill kits off of ebay. Switched back to new brother cartridges and have not had a jam since.
