Have you made sure the drive shaft cable is tuning and is properly installed and that there is no debris or dirt stopping the blade from turning?

Most of us, at one time or another, leave fuel in trimmers or mowers for too long a time without running them. This causes the fuel to gum up and block passages, etc. A good idea is to add a fuel stabilizer (available at almost any hardware store) to the fuel or fuel/oil mix that you use for your small engines. It will allow the fuel to stay viable for a much longer period of time.
If you decide to actually diassemble your carb, and you have a digital camera, I would advise you to take picture along the way unless you are very good at remembering where things go after you have taken them apart. You also will probably find limiter caps over the setting needles. Sometimes you can simply pull them off; sometimes it is more involved than that. I would simply try spraying a carb cleaner into the carb (with the air filter removed), letting it sit for a few minutes, then try starting again.
Hope this also helps.
