Question about Dell Dimension™ B110 PC Desktop

Check the jumper settings of the hard drive
The drive is larger than 32GB, but the operating system only recognizes 32GB. If the operating system, BIOS or DiscWizard can only recognize 32 GB of the drive it may be caused by one of the following:
It is recommended that you back up any important data on the hard drive before using SeaTools to set the drive size. This is a potentially data destructive procedure. Seagate is not responsible for any lost data.
After correcting the drive capacity, the drive may still show a partition size of 32GB but with unallocated space. You must delete its current partition then repartition and format the drive to gain the full capacity of the drive. The other option is to create a second partition with the remaining unallocated disc space.

Do you have any device drivers loaded on your system that may be interfering? Such as ANYDVD or some other app? Does this happen with data DVD's as well as movies?
Have you tried starting your DVD player application and then inserting the disk into the drive?
One thng you may want to try is going into device manager and deleting all IDE devices, then deleting the IDE controllers themselves and rebooting. This should allow Windows XP (I assume it is XP) to re-recognize and re-initialize the hardware. Then you may want to try re-installing the motherboard chipset drivers (there should be a driver disk that came with your machine, hopefully) just to make sure they are all in good shape.

No, you should be able to put in any IDE hard drive, actually a total of four drives should be possible, including DVD / CD/R drives.
The machine has only one internal 3.5" and two 5.25" drive bays, though, so you would need to find a way to mount the extra drives in the case.
