WHY DOES THE FRIDGE FLASH AND BEEP BUT DOES NOT TURN ON?

It is probably activated by propane. Most fridge units on traitors are ran by propane. Set your pilot light. The casing unit should be located under the fridge area possibly in a cupboard. It also could be a electrical wiring problem.

I have a tedco gas electric fridge. Works fine on gas but when i switch over to electric-no go. It says it is a 12Volt 12 Amp system and has a standard plug at the rear which I plug into an electical...

there should be a small black box transformer wired into the ac cord
that goes to your standard plug
the transformer should then have wires going to your heating element
If someone has removed the transformer just order a 110vac to 12v 12 amp transformer and wire it in like you would a doorbell
when the transformer is working you should feel heat at the rear of your refrigerator at the heating element

Hi; How old is the gas operated fridge. Sometimes rust can obstruct the flow of LP through the pilot orafice. Some times by gently tapping on the pilot assembly the rust will dislodge itself. Also do You have LP in tank.

Dometic rv fridge runs fine on elec, lights on gas but in one min shuts down. Dometic RV S1621 fridge runs fine with elec, when start gas operation. The burner runs for about 30 seconds then shuts off....

It is key that all control switches are in the correct position, depending on what power source you are using, gas, electric, etc. If the switches are not in the proper setting, the unit will not operate.

Here's the manual for your fridge that should be printed out for your use and reference (and reading enjoyment). It has all the info needed to operate and troubleshoot it.

Typically, when using any gas appliance with a pilot light, the sensor has to first be hot enough to trigger it to allow the safety gas shutoff to open and allow the gas to flow to the pilot/burner. Follow the instructions and you should be all set.

hi,

it sounds like the oven safety valve is bad, it will reach a point when the pilot will make enough energy to keep itself lit, but not enough to open the gas valve to light. it will need to be replaced. if you are handy you can do this, but make sure you shut off the gas to the range first. you should be able to find a replacement online, if not check with a local LP gas company that sells parts to the public.
