Why does it take so long to wash cloths I have done everything 1 hour and half still washing

Hi Robin,

Many washers have different wash settings and rinses in addition to temperature options and water levels (or load size). The temperatures wont affect the wash times (but hot and warm water washes will cost you more for the expense of making the hot water), so choose whichever you think you need. The water level makes a small impact each time it needs to be filled (wash, rinse, etc.). A warm wash will fill in half the time as either a cold or hot wash - as both hot and cold water are combined to make a "warm" water cycle.

A "Normal" or "Regular" wash without a pre-soak or pre-wash cycle and a single rinse is usually sufficient for *most* laundry needs - especially if you're using dryer sheets. Otherwise, you may find fabric softener is not rinsed out enough to your liking (or not - it's a personal choice).

If your machine offers a "Max Extract" or longer spin setting - it is worth running it to reduce the amount of time they're in the expensive-to-use dryer.

If you need more help - provide your washer brand and model.

No Full Hot Water wash

the hot selection only tells the machine to turn on the house hot water to the machine
if you have it on warm , then both taps will be working
if you want a really hot water wash , there will be an element in the tub to bring it to temp
naturally an energy saver will not waste money heating hot water

EW1200 is rinsing in hot water how do we change that

Hot wash, hot rinse is for 'whites'. Cold wash, cold rinse is for 'colors'. Warm wash, cold or warm rinse is for 'permanent press'. Check your settings to see if you have these options. Double check the hoses, put the machine on cold fill and feel the hoses.
Has someone worked on the machine and possibly put the wires on the solenoids wrong? Easy mistake to make.

Warm Wash: Force it to be cold?

you will need to put a "Y" in the cold water line and remove the hot water hose otherwise the hot water solenoid will open up and let in hot water,if you have cold water to both solenoids then you can get done what you want to accomplish, wash and rinse in cold water on all cycles

Water changes from hot to cold. Valves checked out

Bad thermistor or bad board. Or its just a energy super saver and it will not let you use all that hot water. Did it work before or its been like this since new? New energy star models will only let it just get warm for hot wash, saving energy. warm wash is like 70 deg water.

Water temperature

It sounds like your water inlet valve (also known as a Mixing Valve on some washers) HOT solenoid is sticking open. When you select either a hot or cold wash cycle, separate solenoids open or close to allow only cold water to enter the washer on the cold wash cycles and hot water to enter on the hot cycles. If the hot solenoid stays open, you will have hot water mixing with your cold water during the cold cycles. The result is warm water. I would recommend you replace the water inlet valve. This is a job the average DIYer can do. Please post back with your model number and I can assist you with locating a part number and/or give you specifics on how to access the valve to replace it.
