Question about Dehumidifiers

I have Model TWD-510BE. It has been working great until this week when the automatic on/off switch failed. Intermittently,the dehumidifier will not shut off even when I turn the dial to "off". The number on the switch is TW2001R-A. Also listed on the switch is TECXWELL. Can you advise me where and how I can obtain a new swith? I live in Northeast Pennsylvania. Thank you. Dianna Smith

    The picture shown on the link you referred me to does not look like my switch.

    The number shown also is not the same as mine. The number shown on my old switch is

    The automatic on/off switch on my Surround Air Dehumidifier has stopped working even when I turn the knob to "off". The serial number is 48000143 and the specification number is TWD510BE. The dehumidifier is approximately four years old.

    Then it must be the wrong part, I don't have any other parts. Try another expert, you have a link or a button below for getting another expert or reposting.

    That Is the only part I found with the part number.

When I press the power on button, why does it just beep and won't turn on?


There is an interlock that shuts down the dehumidifier when the bucket is not in place or not seated correctly. There also may be a "bucket full" sensor that shuts it down mistakenly. Another possibility is that the compressor has failed.

Haire model HD308 dehumidifier quit shutting off automatically when full?


usually the float is stuck. remove the resevoir and check the upper inside of the machine for the float. if you can flop it up and down easily, it's the switch attached to it that needs to be replaced.

I have a Windchaser dehumidifier Model WDH928. The problem is that it does not automatically shut off when the tank is full. The water just flows over the tank and out. I've had this for years and it...


The float valve sensor in the bucket is either stuck in the down position or has broken entirely. Accessing the interior of the tank is the only way to know. I would recommend that you use a continual drain hose, but that is not recommended, as the coils need some water in the tank to cool.

The real downside is, that Windchaser has been out of business (phones disconnected, website down, etc) for several months and parts are extremely had to find.

If your carpet is wet ... like mine was ... the best thing to do is bite the bullet and get the carpet out of your basement or where ever it is ... so your dehumidifier has a chance.

You reduce the % on the machine to reduce the humidity in your room. You should probably also get some fans going.

I have removed my carpet and padding and everything that I can reasonably remove from the room. I have 4 fans going and 2 dehumidifiers and two sump pumps. I also keep the windows open in the day time because it is more dry outside than in the basement. I have heat in the basement which I run at night. My goal is to save my house from damage due to moisture. It will be a good month for the electric company, that is for sure.

I'm sorry you are in this perdiciment ... I'm sorry for me too. My carpet was less than a year old and we have not had any water in the basement for 30 years.

yes, the unit uses refrigerant, depending on the type unit maybe cost prohib to repair. You would need to check and make sure compressor is running. If there are no service ports then you would need to install service ports. we use piercing valves and then manifold gauges

Factory Default Setting:
When the unit is first connected to a power supply, the
electronic circuit board will automatically default to the
following factory settings;
Mode: Dehumidifier
Humidity Set Air Value:60% RH
Fan Speed: = Low
NOTE: In the event of a power failure or the unit is
switched ‘Off’, the most recent settings are retained and
restored once the power is switched “On”/resumed.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Depending on the ambient humidity
conditions, when power is restored or switched ‘On’ the
dehumidifier may not start automatically under the factory
or custom (see page 7) default setting. This is an indication
that the ambient RH% level of the surrounding environment
is lower than the current default setting and it
may be necessary to select a lower set RH% value.

MY LG DEHUMIDIFIER WILL NOT LOWER THE HUMIDITY


Make sure that the filter and coils are clean. LG recommends that you clean the filter every 2 weeks. They also include a brush to clear the dust from the coils. If this does not solve the issue it will need to be serviced. If it needs to be serviced this dehumidifier has a 5 year warranty. If it is under 5 years old contact LG and they will either offer to have it serviced by a nearest service center or send you a replacement if a service center is not nearby.
