Canon MX860 prints crooked!

Does this happen when printing from the cassette (bottom tray), or the sheet feeder in the back, or both? Check that the paper guides are set snugly (touching but not buckling the paper) against the edges of the paper.

Instructions on unjamming swingline electric stapler model 270; jam is at the front of the stapler; staplers come out either broken, flaten or crooked and does not secure document.

First, are you using the recommended staples for this stapler? Many heavy duty electric staplers don't use "standard" desk staples. Second, try unplugging the stapler, unloading the staples, and if possible, reach a couple of fingers into the stapler and try manually pushing up on the staple head to see if you can get the driver blade to come down. Does it come down smoothly, or does it seem like there is something stuck in there? If you aren't sure about disassembling the unit (my usual method-but I'd recommend having the parts diagram handy), try using a flashlight to look at the underside of the staple head, where the staples come out - can you see anything stuck in there? If so, you might be able to use a small knife blade or small dental pick to get jammed staple pieces out.

Paper feeds crooked and will not go through printer

Sounds like you have something jammed in the paper path. Take out the paper tray, and the toner cartridge, and look for scraps of paper, a paper clip, staple, stray cat, or other item in the path.

Stanley Sharpshooter electric staple/nail gun-Hi-Lo knob moves

This is an ongoing problem with this tool. Between inadvertently moving it while using it and the constant rebound of the tool, the setting gets changed. The only suggestion I have is to duct tape the setting wheel into position.

Paper feeds crooked

Sounds like a blocked paper path, paperclips , staples , bits of paper etc can drop into the sheet feeder entry and get stuck in the paper rollers.Look and see if you can see anything in there, if not try feeding a piece of thin card back through the printer from the front (ie in reverse of the normal paper travel) be careful and you may be lucky and drive out the obstruction, if not you will need to strip it down to investigate further
