Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer

Kenmore 70 Series Top Load Clothes Washer- No Spin Cycle

The washer will do everything but spin. It stopped working in steps. It worked then it made noises on spin, then I by-passed the safety switch temporarily and it spun without clothes in at about half speed. After trying a few times it seemed to pick up to full speed, now it does nothing at all on spin cycle. Appreciate any help! Thank You. Jeff

I think it is the clutch. Switch worked when I depress it with lid open. Spin cycle before it stopped seemed labored. Do you know where I can get instructions for removing the clutch? Thanks

My maytag pav2300aww will not spin at all yet it agitates and drains well I was told to clean the agitator so I took it off yet the washer still don't spin the switch look wore out to me so I by-passe

Check the water level sensor and the lid safety interlock. Many washers will work fine with the lid open EXCEPT during the spin cycle, so this is the first logical place to look. Try bypassing the lid safety interlock switch.

Roper washer agitator won't spin after kids loaded

Hi,
It sounds like a someone has broke the lid switch to the washer. Below I have attached a picture, Item number 9 would be the part you seek. P# 3949247 Under the control panel you will find a harness that contains 3 wires coming out of the cabinet housing. The colors should be tan, white and green. If you jump the white and tan you unit should run and think the lid switch is working. Safety way is to unplug the unit to by-pass the switch and plug it back in and select spin only. This is only to test, you need a lid switch for safety. You should replace it ASAP if this test works for you.

Washer won't agitate or spin

i believe this is what we call a direct drive system 2 things it could be is the drive coupler located under unit between the transmission and motor .it is a plastic piece with 3 prongs on each side and a black rubber bushing that goes in between each side to connect ..it is somewhat like a shear pin on a tractor it is designed to break when to much pressure... before you check this make sure the unit is making some sort of noise when it is suppose to agitate or spin..you should hear the motor running just won't spin the tub... if you are not hearing anything then i would suspect you have a bad lid switch on the unit... the lid switch is like a safety switch while running if the lid is raised the unit will stop power supply to motor ...you can check the lid switch byby passing it temporarily and see if it works .... one of the 2 may be your issue.... good luck to you

My washer will wash on any cycle but it will not go to the next step to spin the water out

check the lid switch most likely this is your problem.... they put the lid switch on there so when you raise the lid it shuts the motor down and stops machine...it is a safety device... if the unit is working on everything else you most likely have a bad lid switch...you can bypass to confirm prior to buying a new one.... good luck.... whirlpool models you have to remove 2 screws in console and flip consle over ...you will see a molex plug usually on right side under console with a 3 prong plug... take a jumper and jump out the side coming from the console normally 2 outside terminals. plug unit back in and see if it works....

Spin safety switch not properly calibrated

Well if you can push the switch in by hand the switch is ok no need to replace.Depending on what type of actuator you have it may be that you could put a washer or two behind it to shim it out making it longer and more able to hold in the switch, Just a thought.

WHDRR418G1WW WASHER WON'T AGITATE OR SPIN, NOT MAKING NOISES. FILLS AND DRAINS FINE.

sounds like you have a broken lid switch on the washer, maybe someone slammed the door or placed or stood on top of the washer, a broken lid switch won't allow washer to go into spin mode is a safety device so if is on spin cycle an someone sticks their hand it the machine stops an not breaks your hand.

broken lid swtich

good luck leave some feedback thanks!

Washer will fill agaitate but won't drain or spin

Have you checked the lid switch? A washer that fills and doesn't do anything, or stops right after the wash cycle and then does not advance to the rinse cycle and drain is commonly caused by a lid switch malfunction. The lid switch is usually mounted under the washer top casing, on the right hand side on most top load models. It is activated by a plastic piece on the lid (called a "Lid Strike") through a small hole on the rim of the wash tub opening. In many cases the lid strike breaks off the lid, or the lid switch becomes loose and no longer makes contact. Inspect the lid to make sure the lid strike is still intact, and then inspect the mounting screws (adjacent to the small opening on the wash tub rim) and make sure they are snug. If you determine the switch to be defective, the following link explains how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r385198-replacing_lid_switch

If the switch requires replacement, a new one can be purchased on line at searspartsdirect.com, repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com. Just use your model number as your search criteria. All three sites offer competitive pricing, so shop all three for the best price. If you still need assistance, please contact me and let me know. If my diagnosis is not correct, please post back and elaborate a bit more so I can assist you further. If your washer is not configured this way, or if you still have questions, please let me know. NOTE: I don't know of any "safety switch" on the washer. You can, however, by-pass the lid switch to get it to work temporarily. It is by-passed by jumpering the plug in the console - not splicing any wires. I would not recommend by-passing any safety features, though. You may cause damage to the machine and/or anyone that attempts to use it.

Check to be sure inner tub is not spinning freely on spin tube. It can be noisy when this happens. When it's spinning and stops it may continue spinning for a bit when this happens. You usually need to replace spin tube, because the tabs that key into drive block for inner tub break off. Also replace drive block.

Noise during spin cycles

GE WPXH214ACC Washer drum makes loud noise when spinning sometimes. We've had it since 2005 & never had this happen before. Washer is level, must stop & redistribute clothes to correct. Just started happening now.
