Many new units have a very limited adjustment possibility. This is due to EPA regulations. If the saw is hard to start, it may need to be richened up a little. Your dealer should have proper tool to adjust.

Briggs & Stratton 4 cycle Lawnmower engine no fuel from carberator. Fuel is being supplied to carberator but only runs when starting fluid is used. Gas is new. What's clogged?

the float may be gummed up. or the needle is plugged up.
you need to clean the carburetor, old gas left in the carburetor turns
into shellac and gums up in side. you need to take it apart and clean it.

Try checking the fuel filter in the tank for plugging. Also, check the condition of all of the fuel lines for decay or other damage. You won't be able to adjust the jet settings if the screw heads are 'D' shaped--only authorized service dealers have the necessary special screwdriver. Try removing, then replacing the fuel cap when it quits--if the vent is plugged, it will starve the carburetor after running a while. If it works well at first, then it is not likely that the jets are mis-adjusted. Hope this helps!

Start engine after installing new carberator and gas runs out of filter

The float in the carberator is stuck, try taping the carb with a wrench to free it up. If this don't do the trick, remove the bowl off the carb and move the float by hand a few times then reassemble.
Before starting, check your oil level. All this gas has to go somewhere and its usually in the oil chamber. You may have to do an oil change.

Need intructions on carberator adjustments for mac-3514 35cc/cm3 runs but hard to start after using it for few minutes.

There is a low speed jet and high speed. Low speed sets the idle or stays running without feathering the throttle./// When setting high speed, hold the throttle wide open until engine revs high, then turn back in(at least ¼ turn) to slow the engine which in turn gives the engine more gas and runs cooler. If you have it too lean on the high speed, it will be hot and hard to start. Sometimes using 40 to 1 mix helps with starting, especially on older chainsaw. good luck

Yes it is time to buy a new carberator unless you know someone who can make and install bushings in the trottle plate shaft, and choke shaft. What normally happens over time is the shaft wears into the housing as it is being used which allows ecsessive air into the fuel air mixer which causes inproper run conditions and no matter how much you adjust all the settings you cannot overcome this condition so its either get new bushings made and installed or purchase a new carberator. Hope This Helps Don

New carberater and a mechanic needed!

Even if you do it yourself you need to adjust it.I would get another mechanic to look at it also.Have you tried cleaners? 1 type you add to the gas the other you remove the air bonet and spray into the top of carb while running (have someone press on the gas lightly so you don't stall.Have you tried to increase the idle via the adjusting screw? has the auto choke been tested..adjusted? Good Luck.

Need carberator settings for a sears craftsman chainsaw model#358.354831

You don't want to tighten them down just turn them in until the are just snug and then turn them out.
Start with the low at 2 full turns out and the high at about 1 full turn out. Start the saw and let it idle adjust the low idle to where it runs smooth. Adjust the high until the saw runs as much rpm as you can get at w.o.t. (Wide Open Throttle).
