How to bypass security system in my 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSE supercharged
Hi the Bonneville most probably has the chip in the key ( GM calls this the vats system) this can be easily tricked by doing this. First u have to know the resistance on the key pellet get a meter and put one lead on each side of the little silver pellet on your key , set your meter on resistance, you will need to know this resistance , (note ) if u have a extra key you can just solder a wire to each side of the key again on the pellet and use this in the next step.
now if you don't have a key take the resistance readings to radio shack and get a resistor that matches close to the resistance readings you got from the key., NOW go under the dash of the car, look at the under side of the steering column for a orange wire (actually its two wires in an orange cover , cut this orange wire , split these wires and strip them . now solder the resistor on the car side of the two white wires in the orange cover, is doesn't matter which wires go where , if you are using the old key method wire the key to these wires basically you are looping the system to believing there is a resistor key in the ignition do not wire anything to the side going up to the steering wheel area these can just stay cut they have nothing going to them after u cut the wires , after the resistor is soldered into the car side of the harness the car should start and u can have regular keys cut
