If it goes through the cycles but doesn't spin out the water then your problem is not the belt. The problem is ether the door safety switch, bad clutch ,or a bad transmission. I would say though that it is going to be the door switch seance it does go through the cycles. You can get parts and information on the services near you through this site. www.Applince411.com Hope this helps. Good luck.

Is this a front loader?
other than front loader, this would be a direct drive machine (unless really old -- 80's)
front loader (if it tumbles, the belt is ok, you would most likely need a motor control board)
top loader - if it agitates and does not spin you would most likely need a new clutch or basket drive.
no spin no agitate you would need a coupler,
if your machine stops dead at spin cycle, no sound of motor or operation this would most likely be your timerr.
hope this helps

It's probably the washer transmission. Belts aren't common anymore & besides it wouldn't work at all if there was a belt broken.

Trying to locate the belt on a Whirlpool washer

Hi:
Your washer does not have a belt. It has a transmission, and they seem not to fail very often. Usually, the problem lies with the timer or some other switch. What exactly happens when your spin cycle comes around? Normally, after the wash cycle, the machine stops, then the spin cycle starts in the opposite rotation. The first thing that happens is the water is pumped out, then as the speed increases, the spinning throws the rest of the water out of your clothes. If your machine does pump down the water, but doesn't spin fast, then you might have a transmission problem, but if it also fails to pump out the water, you could have a timer or switch problem, as some machines won't spin with the lid open, and if the switch is broken, the machine thinks the lid is open.

Amana dlw330 washer belt urned & broke again

Had the same problem on a machine I worked on. Changed the belt... was burnt and broken. Second time I replaced the belt, I ran it through all of the cycles and listened to it on SPIN cycle.. Although it's spinning.. it's making an extremely LOUD noise... It's the Spin bearing that is gone out. When a load is put in, and in spin cycle, the bearing is oveloaded..(being dry).. and putting extreme pressure on the motor and belt. When the drum reaches a point where the bearing just won't spin, the belt stops, and spins on the motor pulley, wearing it through.. (And smoking a great deal).. until it breaks.. again. I believe the top "Spin bearing" is about 75.00 or so.. and a BEAR to replace. Hope this helps

GE Model WBSE2090A2WW - shut off intermittenly

Does the machine drain on its own or do you drain it manually? The drain pump may be jammed or seized. Try giving the door a light bang with your hand on the handle. The door interlock could be faulty. If the machine starts up after you hit it with your hand on the door handle, the interlock is faulty. Good Luck!!

Washer will not pass wash cycle...Will not Drain

Nightshade, in most cases, no spin, no drain is a lid switch problem. If you advance the timer to the spin position does it spin? If the machine is agitating you can rule out the coupler. If you are sure that it is not a lid switch problem, then you are probably looking at a bad timer....Catriver..post back.
