Tv i dont have a remote and cant get my tv from popping up the words

you could do it to setup to a/v input . then try to set up to menu to do setup.if not . you tv need change epprom ic. good luck!

u have the cc on , on ur remote control press the botton cc till it said off

check the website for the remote you have bought and enter the codes for newer models of your make of tv keep trying 1 of them should work but might not give you all functions like teletext

ITS CALLED CLOSED CAPTION AND IF YOU PRESS THE MENU BUTTON AND SEARCH YOU CAN TURN IT OFF.

Access your menu, and navigate through.

Look for the Audio option then something with the words "SAP" or "Secondary Audio Programming"
then, of course, change it to mono or stereo.

With your universal, press the "TV" button or the button you would press to have it communicate with your TV, then press menu or settings.

If you can't command all functions with univ. remote, use the
buttons on the front of the tv......if that is not possible, then

I have had this problem all along with my Sony, not being able to figure out how to get rid of the Video 1 setting! I read this posting from Kessa a few minutes ago, and I tried hitting TV and Display - I couldn't find Display - it was because I had picked up the wrong remote! I had the Comcast remote instead, and when I couldn't find Display, I pressed Info - and it disappeared! Then I realized I had the wrong remote. I tried this process again using the correct Sony remove - I hit TV and then Display and it did work! Yay! thank you so much.
