Go to your service part of the manual and find where the connection plug is.Plug it in.A possibility it may be fused.Find the fused link and check the fuse also. Most likely just needs connected.

SOURCE: Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator ice dispenser

First pull out the ice bucket and close the door.  Set for cubed ice.  Press the button for ice to come out and listen for a loud clunk noise.  That is the sound of the solenoid.  You can open the door, hold the light switch and press the button and watch for the solenoid moving up and down.  Solenoid is at the back of the freezer in a little square opening where the rod on the ice bucket goes into.  If that solenoid is moving ok then put the bucket back in while the solenoid is in the down position and cubes should work.  If solenoid is not working then it will need to be replaced.  Let me know what you find.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Side by Side Refrigerator Wont dispense ice

if you lift out the ice bucket you will see the "gear" that turns the auger. The gear is metal but the part on the bucket is plastic and this can become stripped out. Also check that there is not ice frozen around the bottom of the bucket where an ice cube may have lodged the chute door partially open and melted some of the ice in the bottom creating a blockage.

Door disassembly

most indoor dispensers are just a pathway for the ice to slide down with a flapper the dispensing mechanism is inside the freezer itself.
If for some reason you need to access the inside of the door it usually means removing the door seal to do so.

Side by side Whirlpool refrigerator indoor ice make does not dispense ice. The freezer door stood ajar for several hours, allowing some of the ice in the storage chest to melt. The dispenser seems to be...

If you haven't already dumped all of the half-melted ice, go ahead and do that. Rinse out the ice bucket and dry it, so the ice doesn't stick together. When you put it back in the freezer, make sure it goes all the way back, so the auger engages with its drive at the back of the unit. If you hear the motor turning but no ice is moving, the auger blades may have sheared from the shaft. I had to replace the auger in my own Whirlpool for that reason. Good luck - I hope this is helpful to you.

ICE MAKER

Your ice maker works off a different side than the water dispenser. Most times the water control valve is the problem yet it has 2 sides one for water and the other for ice. You can check the ice maker by filling with tap water. Let it freeze and if it dumps the ice and tries to refill I would say the water control valve part number 4389177 will need to be replaced. Whirlpool side by side (106.56692501). Refrig was not cooling but freezer is. Freezer is slowly heating up though. Unit is still running. It just isn't blowing air into the refrigerator.

You have ice in freezer fins. You need to remove back panel inside of freezer, melt all the ice replace panel, plug refridge back in. The ice causes bad airflow to the refridge side, causing to heat up.
