Hot top of microwave is very hot

I always recommend that you use the vent fan whenever you're cooking on the stove top to keep heat, steam, and grease out of the controls and door panels.

The thermal fuse monitors the magnetron temperature and cuts power, if it gets to hot and resets in no more than 20 to 30 minutes. Unplug microwave oven, remove top, "several screws" look over to the right, thermal fuse is mounted on top on the inner chassis, "round and thick with 2 wires clipped on"

There is the thermal fuse that monitors temperature of the magnetron and shuts it down if it gets to hot. Unplug, remove top, look at the top right "thick and round" it is mounted on the inner chassis.

The microwave got too hot. I think everyting inside melted. I'm sorry

The top gets the hotest as the heat from the cavity must get out through vent holes in the cavity. The sides will get hot if not adequate air flow is available.

It depends greatly on the ventilation but if you use 20" above the hob, as a good starting point. If you have extractor fans, maybe less. Don't forget the grill gets hot on top of the oven but there should be at least 10" clearence between the grill top and the microwave base, more if it is gas!

Normally when u cook food in microwave the fod is cooked by microwaves, which means the heat is generated with in food. The temperature inside is never too hot and all the heat produced is absorbed with in the food.

On the other hand when the grill is switched on, a separate heatting element gets switched on. You can see this red hot element on the top side of inside of microwave. the heat from this element gets transferred to food through air circulation. But partof heat also gets transferred to the walls of microwave oven. This is the reason the wall feel hot during use of grill.

As i see ther is no problem with the microwave itself. Jut kep delicate thngs a bit away from the microwave.

YOUR BLOWER FAN MAY HAVE QUIT AND WITHOUT THE AIR CIRCULATION IT OVERHEATIND THE INTERNALS OF IT AND UNFORTUNATELY THIS UNIT WILL COST YOU MORE TO FIX THAN GETTING A NEW ONE. RED HOT IS VERY BAD ON A MICROWAVE

Unless there's a bad connection at a magnetron terminal, I would say you have a failing magnetron.
