find out where the emergency shut-off switch and check to see if it has tripped. if its not that, try to find the fuel pump relay and check it. you can jump the wires when you pull the relay. its usually the biggest pins on the relay. hope this helps.
Your Kia may be equipped with a shock sensor that shuts down power to the fuel pump to prevent fires in case of an accident.
Having seen this on several different vehicles, they will also shut down hitting a pothole or driving at speed on rough roads.
The reset for these has been always behind a panel or in the trunk of such vehicles.
I tried to post this once,so here goes the 2nd time, there is an emergency shut-off switch on the fuel-somtimes located in the rear and if you hit a big pot-hole it will shut down-that could be your problem-call the dealership-ask for the service dept and ask them if your car has the switch-if so where? Or it may be electrical-check to see if you have a loose cable or wire by your fuel tank
You'll have to get rid of that check engine light as it indicates a malfunctioning part. Whether you like it or not you'll have to take it to a shop to do a diagnostic check on it. Check the fuel filter or a relay that's associated with the fuel system. It seems to cut out when it gets hot, check to see if there are any relays in the fuel system.
DID YOU CHECK THE FUEL PRESSURE WITH A FUEL PRESSURE GUAGE, AND MAKE SURE IT IS WITHIN SPECS? IF SO THEN IT COULD BE YOUR IGNITION SWITCH...THE PROBLEM IS, TO DIAGNOSE IT IF IT IS THE IGNITION SWITCH, THE VAN MUST BE IN THE "NO START, OR NO RUN" STATE AT THE TIME....
