Heater switch quit working

Yesterday I went to warm up my truck and the switch was not working. Air comes out of the vents, warm and cold regardless if they are on, but the switch is not coming on

Hey me again. The good thing is that something is good. Now your truck is a 1991, well, the best thing to do is go to a well know junkyard that have good condition items. Junkyards will charge you a higher price if they take it out, but they will give you a smaller price if you take it out. So, if you can do it, then more power to you, but if you can not, have a friend to come along with you.

The air works but when switch to warm still cold

Check the heater core. If the vehicle is warmed up and no warm air will flow out the vents when you raise the thermostat, then it's most likely the heater core.

No heat just cold air

Is the gauge showing the engine is warming up to normal temp ?
Are the heater hoses getting hot ?
If the heater core is getting hot, it could be a blend door problem. The blend doors direct air thru the heater core and the ac evaporator among other things.

4.6 liter has one heater hose warmer than the other. may be plugged core,or is ther a fuse to climate control switch?

Look for a heater valve on one of the hoses if there is no valve i would say its a plugged heater core.

1999 Suburban, A/C on warm air from front vents, cold air in rear

The car uses the same freon in the front as it does in the rear. If the rear a/c is working, you either have a plugged evaporator in the front unit, or perhaps a bad heater switch. Try switching the heater to hot and see if it blows even warmer air from the front vents. If so, the heater switch is working and then it sounds like a plugged evaporator or maybe a plugged orifice tube. That is a good place to start looking. Hope this helps.
