The floppy disc drive doesn't show under "computer" in the left hand column, but I've found that by clicking on "computer" it's listed in the main window. From the "Microsoft Community"

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Loading Windows XP on a SATA drive
Just in case anyone else has this problem and doesn't want to spend an hour figuring it out...
If you are loading Windows XP onto a computer with a serial ATA (SATA) hard drive, you will have to manually load the SATA drivers.
As suggested you need to put the drivers on a floppy disk.
Copy the drivers from motherboard support CD *\DriverDisk\SATA\*.* into root directory of floppy disk. (i.e. root directory of floppy disk should contain \pide and \sata folders, txtsetup.oem, etc. files.)
Then, boot system by Windows XP installation CD, when the message "Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver" shows up, press "F6". Then, press "S" to specify additional device when next screen pops up. Put the driver floppy disk you made in and press enter to continue. If the floppy disk is made successfully, the installation program will ask for selecting driver. Please then select "VIA Serial ATA RAID Controller(Windows XP)".) After SATA driver loaded and Windows XP can recognize the SATA HDD, you can continue to install Windows XP as usual.
This should work fine if you have the drivers on a CD somewhere.
Here's what not to do:
1) Pull floppy drive from another computer
2) Get lazy and not install the floppy, simply hang it by cables on the side of computer
3) After using floppy, allow the exposed circuitboard to touch the case
4) Watch smoke come from the floppy drive since the power was shorted out
5) Toss floppy drive in the trash
Please don't forget to rate me SOLVED if you satisfied my solution.

SOURCE: Acomdata no longer recognized
Hey Cella, I had the same problem, the LED flashes blue and red and it isn't recognized by the computer.
In my case, I had two of these drives connected to my desktop, one was still working while the other wasn't recognized. I swapped the power supply/ power cords that were connected and voila, it's recognized, all data is still there, no corruption or missing files.
In your case, you can try and contact acomdata and see if they can ship you a replacement or you may have to purchase the power supply.
Hope this helps. Worked for me, should work for you.

SOURCE: USB Hard Drive - Won't recognize
this problem depends on your OS, or if that is a really bad pendrive,
if you have windows 9x most of the times you must use that pendrive as a normal hard drive.. with this i mean you have to plug it in, and then start your pc, and to take it out you must turn off the pc..
if its a really bad pendrive, installing the drivers will help, but because those thingies are really lame, they will get busted really fast.
but you can be sure that your USB entrances in your PC are fine because they are recognizing something is in, so the problem is the Operating System, either being too old or lack of drivers.
by the way.. is it a KINGSTON? or a kingbyte?
