To format a hard drive or array, select it from
the Target Disk drop box. Choose the file
system desired from the File System dropbox
(internal drives can only be formatted with XFS).
Note that FAT32 has a 4 gigabyte filesize limit
for individual files. If you choose FAT32 for your
file system, you will not be able to store single
files larger than 4 gigabytes on the drive. Use of
the XFS or EXT3 file systems is recommended.
Press Select Target Disk when done, and then
Start format.
Depending on the size of the target hard disk or
array, a disk format may take several hours to
complete. Shares on the LinkStation will not be
accessible during the disk format.
Note: Reformatting a drive will erase all data
on it! Back up any data on the drive before
reformatting it.

How to format a N77 beacuse i forgot my security code

There are two types of formats one is the soft format and the other is the hard format. The soft format restores your phone to factory settings, all data is not erased in this type of format. The hard format erases the whole data. There are two codes to perform the two formats respectively: for soft format *#7780# and for hard format *#7370# after typing both the codes you need to give the security code but you dont remember, so there's one more way to format your phone: switch off your phone. Hold*,3,green(calling)key and switch ON/OFF button together. The formatting progress will be displayed. Remove your hand from the keys after the format is completed... Rate my answer..

Unable to send data and format too

Try this,

Download and install the low level format tool using the link provided below,
http://hddguru.com/download/software/HDDGURU-Low-Level-Format-Tool/LLFsetup.2.36.1181.exe

Format your Flash Drive using this tool. After this format, please make sure to format it once normally by right clicking on removable disc in My Computer and click format. Second format is neccessary since low level format will remove the File System data even and second format will again create that file system.
Also, please make sure that you select FAT32 as the file system while formatting it for the second time.
