Change voicemail that answers forwarded calls

It's possible that when you cleared the forward on no answer, the voicemail setting on your Samsung iDCS 28D was not properly restored. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

1. Check your voicemail settings: Dial 604 and press the "Speaker" button. Enter your extension number and press the "Speaker" button again. The system should confirm that you have entered the correct extension number. If it does not accept your extension, try dialing from a different phone to make sure that your extension is still active.
2. Verify your call routing: Dial 601 and press the "Speaker" button. This will show you the current call routing for your extension. Verify that "No Answer" is set to go to your voicemail box. If it is not, you can change it by pressing the "Speaker" button and entering the appropriate code for voicemail (usually "72").
3. Restart the phone system: If the above steps do not work, try restarting the phone system. You can do this by unplugging the power cable from the phone system for a few seconds and then plugging it back in.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact your phone system administrator or IT support for further assistance.

1. Go to Google Voice.
2. Click the gear icon at the top right of the Google Voice window and select Settings.
3. Click the Voicemail & Text tab.
4. In the 'Voicemail Greeting' section, click Record New Greeting.
5. Enter the name for the greeting you're going to record and click Continue.
6. A "Record Greeting" box will appear. Select one of your forwarding phones from the "Phone to ring" drop-down menu.
7. Click Connect.
8. Google Voice will call you on the forwarding phone you selected. Pick up the call and record your voicemail greeting when prompted.
9. Once you've recorded your voicemail greeting, make sure it's selected in the 'Voicemail Greeting' section of your Settings.
10. Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.

Sounds like you need to set the call forward no answer to the VM pilot DN for the set with the new mailbox.

You have probably inadvertently cancelled no answer call forward at the extension in question. You will need to know the port numbers for your voicemail but if you watch this video it will show you how to reset the call forward. There are plenty more handy tips for Samsung telephone systems at

I'm not sure that you are phrasing the question correctly. How can I bypass the voice mail box would be a better explanation.

If you take out the voice mail box it will go to the main greeting. Call forwarding to voice mail is call forwarding being processed. Is there somewhere else you would like it to forward to?

From Port 1

Find port 01 or Tel 01 by pressing feature 4 from the lowest extension # in your system. Once you have found port 01 dial either of the following:

Call Forward Busy No Answer

Speaker 45, enter the extension you want to forward i.e 103, enter the destination, another extension perhaps 107 and speaker.

Call Forward Busy No Answer to an outside #

Speaker 45, enter the extension you want to forward i.e 103, press 9 and enter the destination phone # and speaker.

To Cancel Call Forward BNA

From port 1: Speaker 46 and the extension #


Call Forward All

Speaker 47, 103, enter the destination extension 107 and speaker.
(You will notice the Feature light flashing after this operation)

Call Forward All to an outside line

Speaker 47, 103, 9, enter the destination phone # and speaker.
(You will notice the Feature light flashing after this operation)

To Cancel Call Forward All

From port 1: Speaker 48 and the extension #

Yes you can have the 2 lines answered by a particular mailbox instead of the AA greeting.
Would need to know the model of the voicemail system that is installed to see if there are more than 1 AA menus.

You will need your system administrator to change the call reroute assignment of your phone, or you have call forwarding active to a location the system can not route a call to. Either scenario your phone administrator can resolve quite easily.

It depends on what you mean by not set up. Voicemail has specific steps to make it work and it starts with admin access to both the voice mail and phone system. If it is already set up (ie you can call 165 or whatever the VM number is), then what greeting it plays will give you an idea if what needs to be done.

If it plays a general greeting like when you call in from outside, it may be that you just need to add the mailbox for your extension. If it doesn't answer at all, then it's probalby time to call an installer.
