Do I remove the polystyrene from the back of the dishwasher?

Brand new and taking this out of the packaging. There are some polystyrene blocks in the back of the dishwasher. Looks like these can only be removed by screwing off the back. Do these need removing?

After the Polish workmen half installed my dishwasher, I noticed that the sides flapped about.

My partner has her own Ariston dishwasher. It had to be taken out to redo the work of the Polish Heating Engineer.

I noticed that it had a polystyrene piece running across the back of the machine. There was a sign on it saying - "Do not remove". The Polish workmen who had installed my machine had removed it.

Asko 20.1 won't stop pumping unless I turn it off at the wall switch.

this happened to my D3111 and, sure enough, there was a split in the water outlet hose and the water overflow raised the polystyrene float block.
6 months later th same symptoms occurred but the inner base was dry. I took off the lower front panel under the door and found the water level (3 terminal) microswitch had burnt out, probably from running too long. Easy to replace if you can hunt down the $2 switch (brand name Zippy, 6 AMP)

Hotpoint fdw60 , were is the float switch?

The float switch is screwed to the bottom panel.  If you tip the machine onto its side, you will see a metal panel held on with six screws - 3 at the front - three at the back.  Remove these screws and remove the panel.  The float switch is secured to the back of this panel. It is a white polystyrene block suspended below an electrical switch.
