This message is coming in the POST i.e. before it boots; so even if the Hardware failed it shouldn't give this message. Anyway that is my understanding

So what ever is wrong must be in the BIOS. Any ideas on how to update the BIOS?

Will not boot to bios or beep

BIOS is a software program that controls basic functions in your computer, such as boot order, keyboard control and how your processor interacts with memory cards. If you get an "NTLDR Is Missing" error, inspect your BIOS utility to make sure your computer is booting up from the right place.

Cmos is located in BIOS
Restart your computer
during the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup
Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS
if you need to change any of the settings using the arrow keys you can load failsafe or optimised defaults

after you make any changes in BIOS press Esc then press the F10 button save to cmos to restart

CMOS is an on-board semiconductor chip powered by a CMOS battery inside computers that stores information such as the system time and date and the system hardware settings for your computer..

hope this helps you

My pc can not detect imation apollo drive

The BIOS firmware on the motherboard was never updated or there are some missing driver(s) , you can try in case of that a live bootable linux distro on dvd or by usbstick then you know absolut for shure that there is no hardware failure.
no bios defaults set .

Bios is missing

When you power up the computer press F1 or F2 or "del" key.
Also try TAB or F5 or F8 or F12 Then if you not able to see bios setup then you need to reset bios to factory defaults.
For that you need to open cpu cabinet then pull cmos cell from motherboard for 10 minutes also change cmos cell if it has low voltage.
You can RESET bios with jumper settings to.
For that find on motherboard jumper named "Clear cmos"
It has 3 pins .1-2-3 put jumper in 2-3 position then power up then put jumper again into it's original position. Then all settings are defaults.
If then still bios is not come then you need to update the bios.
You can download bios from motherboard company web sites then copy it into usb flash drive or disk then boot your computer with it then you can update bios.Motherboard web sites provides you command how to upgrade bios.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

How can i change my bios device priority settings

Many Bioses have 'locked' sections because there is no supported hardware on the motherboard. One way to 'unlock' is to clear the CMOS memory, by removing the coin cell battery (if that type) and keep it off for about 5 minutes. If a soldered in battery, there usuall is a jumper to clear the CMOS. Once done, the BIOS is at default state, and the time, etc needs to be entered.

BIOS related issue in my system

If you change hard drive settings that usually will cause the system not to boot into windows, but you should still get some kind of post unless the changes were in conflict with the hardware such as enabling a setting that some hardware does not support.

Setup powering down after 5 minutes of being on.

Enter you're bios & head to CPU section. There should be a section to check CPU & motherboard tempture. Sit back & watch the temp settings. (Check for over-heating which can & will shut down the system). It's best to do this with the case closed. Normal operation.
Did you add thermal grease between heat-sink & CPU. Same can happen if memory over-heats.
