Obviously fuel is flowing but not being ignited. Check spark plug and replace with a new one, then check for spark using a spark testing tool if still having problems. You need three things to get it to fire: fuel flow, spark, and compression... Hopefully the motor still has good compression, but check for spark problems first.

Sounds like you have blown the exhaust gasket. Not a difficult repair .. just undo the exhaust manifold bolts and remove the exhaust. Purchase a new gasket and reassemble with the correct torque settings.

I had same problem and symptoms. I was overchoking it. Started fine when I quit choking it. Do as suggested above. Do not use full choke.

The carb is not closing down properly. You will need to either rebuild the carb or just replace it. Basically the float is staying open after you shut the machine down. Please rate
