That would have to be either a HDMI cable similar to usb but not totally rectangle or the old 3 lead RCA to RCA cables which are red and white for audio and yellow for video.

SOURCE: connection to TV by HDMI cable

The 625 is not a high definition receiver and therefore does not support hdmi. You can use RGB or S-video to provide a higher quality picture than the coax output. If you need more options let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

SOURCE: Satellite signal "lost" after digital changeover

RG6 is the standard, as opposed to RG59 cable. The new cable would not cause the problem to start or continue.

Who was the tech who came out to your home? A Dish Network tech? And left the site with it still not working?

Resetting, unplugging the receiver, and having all those parts replaced... yeah that almost sums up everything that could be done with the exception of replacing the receiver itself.

It's rediculous that you have been dealing with this problem THAT long. Call Dish Network, give them a recap, and tell them your going to cancel and go with DirecTV if they don't fix the problem. Then speak to a supervisor if you get a rep that doesn't seem to care.

All else fails, go Direct. Better customer service, more HD.... that's what I have!

SOURCE: just had a new vizio flat tv installed need to

Hello, Matt Gonzales with DISH Network here. The codes to program a 3.0 remote to a Vizio tv are 505, 627 and 671. If you do not have a 3.0 remote, or the codes provided did not work, you can find a full working list at http://tech.dishnetwork.com/departmental_content/techportal/index.shtml. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: receiver lost signal, cannot aquair

It sounds like the dish may be mis-pointed since it's not recognizing all the satellites. The next step for this would be to send a technician out to get everything fixed.

If you would like any assistance setting up a technician, just send me an email at thomas.faust@dish.com and I would be happy to help.

Go to a Samsung dealer ir servicer and take the model number with you. The difference in the power cords is not polarity. It's whether or not it is for 115VAC or 220vac More than likely you need the one for the US--115vac.

Red, Green and Blue cables together typically denotes a component video signal - an Analog, High Definition transportation for video. This cable does not carry audio, you need another cable to hook up audio between the DVR and receiver. You can use either an RCA stereo cable (red and white), optical-audio, HDMI, or a whole plethora of other audio cables. I would recommend optical or HDMI to get the most out of your system.

Just need to know where to plug in the red, green and blue cords

The red-blue-green outputs of the cable box are COMPONENT video, and the yellow-white-red inputs on the tv are COMPOSITE video. Although the words sound almost alike and the connectors look similar, they are incompatible signals. You'll need to change either the cable box or the tv so they match. Maybe this would be a good way to rationalize getting that new home theater system! Or maybe call your tv cable company and ask for a different box with composite video output. Once the cable box matches the tv, you don't necessarily need to change the cables. If the connectors fit, go ahead and use the cables you have.

Connecting HD cable box to DVR too HDTV

When I hooked up my HD cable box using an HDMI cable, I had to go into the cable screen menus and select HDMI output. You may have to do something similar when using an S-video cable. Your DVD recorder doesn't seem to have an HDMI input, so you'll have to use the S-video or (worst case) composite video (red, white, yellow cords). Your cable box may also be scrambling the signal so that you can't record. That may be why you can record by bypassing the cable box.
