SOURCE: kodak 5300 first said error 3802 now says print head missing or loose

I got the same Problem as listed above. This is the way how I was able to solve it:

  • Remove the color and black ink cartridges and the printhead. (the 5300 Printhead can be removed by pressing a button on top of the carriage and a slight pull --> for better instructions use this official Kodak PDF)
  • Try to clean the printhead and the carriage with a slighty wet cloth from ink. CAUTION!: better not touch the green electronic chip! Be carefull while cleaning.
  • Reinstall the printhead and the ink cartridges.
  • If the printer detects a 'new' printhead just do a calibration and your are done. If not try to print a test page.

Hope this solves the Problem. Best wishes

Why does my kodak esp c315 printer keep jamming when I use kodak photo paper

Here is a link to the maual. Be careful about printers. they get dirty fast. The rollers skip and jam up and need to be cleaned. I once found a ribbon in one where a child tried to run it through. If you have had it a while it probally could use a going through.

Go to settings, reset the type of picture and text to be printed. If this doesnt work you can now get a new printer for a great price on Amazon these days.

What is error code 3513?

It appears that your printhead is loose or missing. Inspect it, clean, and reinstall. Hopefully that should clear the problem.

Keep getting message print head loose or missing after changing the black cartridge on the esp c315

It sounds like youve pressed a bit heavy when fitting cartridge and disconnected the actual printhead itself. lift the lid as if to change the ink cartridge and check if you can clip the printhead back in place. It should be a case of simply pressing the chamber the cartridge sits in away from you until you hear it click.

We installed new ink cartridges and we cannot get the printer to print since that. It says 'printhead loose or missing- error code 3513. It is a kodak ESP 3250. service no. is E116223

Try cleaning the metal contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer that the cartridge touches with some rubbing alcohol and a Qtip. Let it dry before trying again. Make sure that it is seated correctly.
Hope this was of some help, let me know. Thanks for using FixYa

Hi K6,
I'm guessing this is a kodak printer?

I've tried to follow their instructions and I have contacted them for a new one but they don't seem to like sending that part out.
